The one i had for my 172 Group N ECU's were programmed by R.Sport Ltd (Formerly Radbourne Racing) of South Wimbledon, who are now a Renault dealer I think. They are used by Renault for a lot of the motorsport operations, such as Formula Renault and Clio Cup engines, where they pass them on to...
Ha, would you believe it, mine did it this morning for the first time ever since i've had the Group N ECU. I had left the aircon switched on to full speed though.
If I remember from previous post about this on CS, it generally happened more in the hotter weather
I've had two exhausts made by them now, and loved both of them. The one on my Trophy is perfect, just the right noise and sound level. Best thing you can do to your trophy i'd say, i would hate going back to the standard exhaust now.
The service is excellent, Charlie is a funny guy, but...
I dont think anyone has ever had it solved to be honest, i remember this being raised many times over the years on Cliosport. A case of just living with it or buying a Group N ECU i think :?
I had this problem on both my 172 and Trophy. Whatever causes it, fitting the RSport / Group N ECU stopped it on both cars.
There's obviously something different (probably fueling) in the map that means it never happens with them fitted.
Dont forget the tracktime at FCS for anyone thats interested! Would be good to have a group of us out there together for a session :D
Look what Performance GTi Magazine thought when they spotted me going round last year:
Just think what they'd say to a group of us going round...
Well I looked at Sputniks site and they offer
Business Pro Hosting @ £195pa
* 100 MB Web Space
* 2 Gb/month of traffic
I'm currently paying £60pa on the deal i'm on and get
75GB webspace
1110 GB/Month Bandwidth
Ok, i don't use more than 2% of that, but i still need...
Yeah, unfortunately for the bandwidth and space requirements we have, 1&1 are 3 times as expensive as the current host, but then you get what you pay for.
Going to have to raise more money from the site if thats the case, i wanted to try and keep it advert and membership fee free ideally.
You may have noticed the site dissapeared for a long period of time both yesterday and today. The hosting company blame it on one of their main fiber links being cut. They switched to a backup (which should have kicked in automatically and didn't) yesterday, and then this was cut today causing...
Hi Kylie, welcome to the forum. :D
There havent really been many meets yet, people are spread out a bit so its been hard to organise much, but as you've already spotted, TRAX is going to be our first major event.
I've taken my Trophy on quite a few days over the last year:
3 x Donington National, 2 x Brands Hatch (Evenings), Bedford (GT) , Goodwood, Nurburgring (15 laps), Silverstone GP (TRAX 05), Bruntingthorpe (FCS), 3 x Airfield Day (Smeatharpe Devon)
Jesus, no wonder i'm on my 4th set of brake...
Its the first time anyone has mentioned it, but more than one user has tried to manually create a new make of Renault over the last few weeks, so i'm guessing they couldnt see the list which already has renault in it either.
I dont have access to a Mac to test unfortunately, but i will look...
Yep, I think i responded to your post over on Cliosport.
Renault dealer definitley put the creaking on my 172 down to the indicator stalk mechanism. Like you it only happened when it was warm, so by the time it annoyed me enough to think about getting it in to have it sorted it had stopped...
You might want to update your car domain site then :P
Fair enough if you don't like them though, thats why they were an option on the 182. I know which i'd rather have though.
I owned a full fat 172 for 2 years, and now the trophy for 14 months or so. I can say that for me the recaros are better in just about every way. More comfortable on long journeys, much more supportive, more adjustable to give a better driving position, better build / materials.....
I had one on my 172, and they do need bending a fair bit to get them to fit. Very worrying fitting it as you're convinced it will just snap but got mine on fine in the end.
It's impossible to tape into position before fitting the self tappers though as mine was nowhere near the right shape...
Hi, welcome to the forum :D
Nope, the Trophy is based on the 182 Cup specification so it does not have Xenon headlights. This is all part of reducing the weight over the 'full fat' 182.
Dont forget to post your number up in the Trophy Owners Register section of the forum!
The lumpy / rough running is normal and by design believe it or not.
The ECU is programmed to run the car like this for 75 seconds (IIRC from one of the Renault Tech notes) in order to meet emissions standards until the cat has warmed up.
I really like it though as during this time my...
Yep for some reason it got renamed to Petrol Blue. Not many people bought it, but its only now people are realising that it was actually a reallly nice colour.
Looks different at whatever angle you look at it from.
Oilman sells a range of oils that should fit the purpose.: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/
Silkolene Pro S 5W-40, and Motul 300V Power 5w-40 seem to be popular choices
Nope, its just there to warn you your cat isn't working properly :P .
The light never came on on my decatted 172, but it has on the Trophy. There are no side effects of it being on at all though (apart from the increase in performance and exhaust volume :D )
