Greenlight - No more agreed valuations

What's the latest on Greenlight with the Trophy? Renewal is due in a a few weeks and I've wondered about an agreed value policy this time.

Mine is bubbling here but I didn't realise it was common to a specific side. What causes it?

    Clutch

Got the gearbox out just now and a chap on cliosport has refurbished it and the diff, going to chuck a clutch in too given it's stripped that far and over 100k miles. What are folks thoughts on brands? Sachs is always a safe bet in my eyes but a quick google had a few folk mentioning to stick...

    Trophy #273 - For Sale

Pretty cheap, wouldn't expect it to hang around.

    Trophy #31 for sale

Looks a cracker. May I ask how much you got for it? Given the asking price and selling so quickly I'd assume it's a good indication of values still being on a nice upwards trend.

    Service Time

To put it politely, that's absolute bollocks. If it's an original water pump it's a no brainer to do, think the part is only around the £30 mark.

    Brakes- corrosion

How often are you forced into changing yours due to corrosion? The Trophy is a second car but still gets used a few times a week. Regardless, I find the rear discs especially always end up corroding quite badly. Fronts at the minute are apparently a bit corroded on the inside too, plenty of...

    New headlights

Mmm sounds odd. I did my M5 headlights then put a wax on them afterwards and in the 2 years I still had the car from then they were totally fine.

    New headlights

Why are you wanting new ones? If it's because the lenses are cloudy just used a 3M headlight restoration kit.

    Cruise control/speed limiter not working

Bit of a follow up here. Not sure how much the injector issue actually had to do with the cruise control now as the EML came on again the other day (not a misfire code but relating to the cat) and it being on does not affect the cruise control at all. The only other issue I suggested to them at...

    Brand New Sachs. (Group Buy)

I've just chucked £750 at mine and have a misbehaving 7 series to boot so it's highly unlikely for me.

    Cruise control/speed limiter not working

Just had the aux. belt kit done at SWR and a few other bits and pieces. Replacing the injectors now leaves me with working cruise control for the first time in 3.5 years. Interestingly enough it seems that an issue with them while not triggering the EML was enough to stop the cruise from working.

    Brand New Sachs. (Group Buy)

Sounds good in theory but you guys must be doing all right if you can drop £600 for a 'just in case'. I'll have a bill for about a grand this weekend and that's not the dampers or cambelt!

    Damper rebuilds

I was lucky with CF as it was timed conveniently when the powder coater appeared so had them back within a week. Think they said they'd typically be 2-3 weeks though.

    Damper rebuilds

I used Cornering Force last year, no complaints and was less than £500.

    OEM rear SACHS dampers

IIRC Rik Perry said the differences between the rear dampers are minimal.

    OEM Trophy Springs

Having just recently got a 7 series, it is amusing seeing 'compliant ride' being mentioned regarding the Trophy. :D

Worth waiting till Spring to sell my Trophy?

I would wait for advertising widespread but an ad on here would be worth a shot.

This isn't salted, this is just damp areas I know well.

    Tyres.!!!

I can see why the rule is to fit new tyres to the rear where possible. I have adhered to this before but since I figured the Goodyears on the rear still had about 6mm on them I'd give it a go with new tyres staying on the front. I've had a few instances of oversteer recently in the cold and...

    What’s it worth?

To be honest, on principle I just hope not too many are unused garage queens, it'd be a complete waste of the car.

    What’s it worth?

Higher miles but well maintained would be the best bet to get good value. Values still have plenty of time to creep up I'd say. I bought mine for £5k at 78k miles, it's now on just over 99k and I think I could get the same back for it.

WANTED: Clio 182 Trophy (sub 75k miles)

That still sounds like you'd be taking it to the most expensive place you can find. I was £500 at cornering force and about £600 for both belts, dephaser, water pump and wheel alignment at a Renault specialist. So belts alone would be a good bit cheaper.

WANTED: Clio 182 Trophy (sub 75k miles)

I'd be wondering what on earth I was doing if I paid anywhere near £2k for the belts and a damper refurbishment.
