They're lovely, If I was saving up for a DC5, I think I'd hold out a little longer and get one. I mean it must be good if they compared it directly with the DC2 this month.
F4R does sound a little rough when the oil is cold, don't forget there's a cold-start program that lasts for about 75 seconds to allow the cat to warm up.
Steering creak is very common on 182's, as Dave says an easy fix. Are you still under warranty? If so get it in pronto.
Stripes? Only...
Are you kidding Cue? There are millions of five door Clios on the road, more than three doors probably. There's even a Clio Saloon in France, it looks really weird.
The seats don't slide when they're tilted but I think this has already been established. My passenger one went all weird for...
I would just say that it should read 'Form follows function' regarding the original Impreza rather than 'Form over function'. That implies that the form is more important than that just necessary for it's function, like an AC Cobra.
Excellent stuff, keep up the good work.
I wish I'd read this thread sooner.
Power is indeed equal to torque multiplied by engine speed, a nice easy way of working out power from torque is;
Power (bhp) = Torque (ft lbf) x Engine speed (rpm) / 5252.
The 5252 constant is that because of the relationship between the units of...
...and you said I wouldn't get that red paint off and I'd need to respray it.
(OK so it did take two hours with a wooden toothpick and some T-Cut)
Gearknob is an objet d'art, warms up instantly in the hand and makes the gearchange feel fantastic.
Well, I didn't go for the extra options as the Frugal Fairy beat the Spend Sprite into a pulp while the alarm guy was showing me the options. Anyway the alarm is great, I had the OE exhaust fitted and had all day to clean the car within an inch of it's life so I took some pics. I also managed to...
Detaching the audio stalk is the only mildly taxing part of this job, only because it's hard to see the release tab from the top.
I'm back to three settings in the Teg  at least you can't hear the damn relay clicking though.
Kids today eh? I did have mine for well over a year, I could feasibly afford it but I wanted to clear some overdraft debt before buying my first property and I felt if I hung onto it any longer I would never want to sell it and there are loads of great cars out there that I want to try. The...
Because, Rich and Gem, Cliosport is a site populated by 95% bell-ends and 4% children who I wouldn't like to swear about. The only people on there who don't slate the Trophy are the Trophy owners, and if you think it's 'current car blinkers' why do I still think it's the greatest hot hatch ever...
I can tell you now categorically that BP 102 is a complete waste of money in an unmodified Trophy. The extra knock resistance of the 102 RON fuel is arbitrary when the compression ratios remain the same, the only point in a higher octane rating is to resist pre-ignition (sometimes called...
Never buy the oil outside of the offers Dave! I got 6 litres of the stuff for £45.
Also you should be entering a promotion code for being a club member, you can get one from the opieoils site.
I'd like to call you a Traitor Nik but...
I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Trophy Rich and Gem, it's a step up from a Corsa that's for sure and noticably quicker than an R27 (17 as opposed to 19 seconds to 100). You'll also probably appreciate the steering and lively character...
Standard backbox is getting fitted this Saturday, I was going to do it myself but it looks to be quite a pain and I need a new gasket. I've actually got used to the noise now and don't mind it, it's going to seem very quiet after it's gone, it sounds so good at high revs, it's just the low bassy...
Very very different but similar in lots of important ways.
First of all it's much lower, the seating position is completely different, you sit in the car with your legs out flatter and your bum feels a lot closer to the road. This really affects the feel of the car.
The steering is full of...
Welcome Rudi,
You'll love the car, I drove a 1.2 for a week once (K-Tec's replacement car) and all I can say is, it's not comparable to the Trophy, obviously I'm not talking about the performance (There's not much in it between the two  ) but it just feels like a completely different...
What sort of diff does the DC2 have George? It certainly doesn't pull the car to one side, in fact it has absolutely no torque steer or veer of any description (not very much torque probably helps). It's incredibly stable under braking too, probably the low centre of gravity and long wheelbase.
That's a shame Hyb. that was a lovely car. I'd heard that S's were a bit of a handful in the wet, one of the journos wrote off a press car when they first came out because the road was damp. The Teg isn't nearly as much of a handful, you can slide it around like a RWD car though which is quite...
She didn't scratch the roof but she's quite good at opening the door onto things though.
I'm glad you spotted the balloon, I was going to make the title include "with a big balloon" but thought it was taking it too far.
DS's fade on track, eventually. So I've heard.
Standard pads (Bendix?) are utter poo.
Greenstuff are slightly more expensive than poo but no better smelling. The cheap resin that holds them together is not as heat resistant as it should be.
