Nice to hear some new information on how RUK came to own Clio Williams 0001. I remember 'that' letter being discussed on the forums back in the day by the author.

Great work in getting this far, but for me it would have to be a Sachs manufactured rear shock. I would be happy to pay the higher price for a identical shock.
I’d be tempted to buy a 182 front shock and have a machine shop to make a jig up, cut the spring cup off the new shock and the old one, and reweld the new cup onto your old strut
