Now getting locked up in a garage with a trickle charger to make sure they stay pristine for as long as possible!
After chatting with Ktec and Andy Cochrane they suggested the best combination of Pads and discs were the high carbon fronts with some Carbon Lorraine 5plus pads.
These are smooth / no vanes and are kinder to the CL pads which can be. A tad crumbly
They have arrived and look so much better...
In the end decided for brand new calipers and also to refurbish the rears and new discs all round .

Then some paint on the brackets will be next stage and deciding which disc pad combo is the best option.

Came to look at the brakes and one of the seals on the front calipers was knackered
So a new seal and piston kit seemed in order.
Plus a full on scrub up seemed sensible.
On closer inspection even though the discs had plenty of meat on them there was loads of micro...
Did the seatbelts at last and after years of grubby hands grabbing the belts were a bit yuck
A quick soak for an hour in boiling water and a scrub with nail brush
What a difference
Took a few hours but looks great now.

So a bit of an update on recent fixes in the quest and pre Covid was looking for the last things to fix on the car.
