Finally got round to doing a bulk load of jobs on the Trophy. Im amazed how much of a difference polybushing the dog bone mount has made!! The car feels tighter and more responsive and gear changes aren't sloppy any more. One of the best "upgrades" I've probably ever done to a car! Totally...
sorry to bring this back up. @bearne1 do you have any other links for the upper gearbox mount? the one linked is sold out. just got a email after waiting for it for a week
Going to do the upper engine mount, dog bone and the upper gear box mount but I can only find the upper engine mount and dog bone as polybush?
Also, am I wasting my time and money going polybush? The cars a daily and there is a fair amount of movement so they do need replacing and figured I may...
Well Im stuck with the broken struts a little longer. For any one in the future that reads this avoid the MM ones on the link further up this page. far too long. the spoiler was hitting befor I even had both ends attached :worried:
I had them side by side. Standard are 390/400mm these were...
My MM ones turned up just this minute. In work but I'll be whacking them on later. If any one want some OEM ones for that OCD touch let me know as they'll be in the bin when the new ones are on. Its a Clio at the end of the day not a Peble Beach concour Entrant. I get keeping mostly original...
I couldn't care if they're OEM. If some one tries to pick me up for them when they're trying to buy the car I'll refuse to sell it to them. Sellers market haha. They still came in at £32 with the quicker delivery..... i instantly start thinking about what other cooler stuff i could of got :( but...
The ones from the above link? 412mm and 340Nm?
cheers for the speedy responses Rik. Appreciate it. means I can get them ordered in today for delivery tomorrow hopefully. I've put this job off fo eight months....there's just cooler stuff to buy :) :) haha
Sorry to revive this but after reading the whole thread it seems opinions are divided on which struts to buy?!
Can any one give a definitive link to which ones work best? what pressure to have them gassed to and the best fit overall length?
The magneti morelli ones linked a few posts up seem a...
Welcome!! Good number!
I'm still a relative newb compared to some of the people here who are original owners still , who im sure will be a long shortly to welcome you also. Found this one of the more friendly forums and no keyboard warriors that I've noticed yet. Get involved and get some pics up!
I've just sat and read all 11 pages of this thread. Properly awesome work @Rik Perry (even if a lot of the tech bits about spring rates and rebound went straight over my head).
I know where I'll be coming when I get round to having mine done. I have zero paperwork to say they've been done, and...
I did a quick seach but cant find any thing. The sticker that sits below the b-post on the inner drivers door sill on my T has totally worn out / washed away some how. Its just totally white now. Is this a common issue and can new stickers be had and if so they cost the earth like some Renault...
@BenG The price of Defenders is insane! but I would love one. A go any where work horse! They can look pretty smart with a few bolt on bits like yours. Good plate too :tongueout:
Slight garage envy.....well total garage envy.... I don't even have one haha.
Totally agree. I smile every time I drive her and can't help but look back when I walk away.
I can understand why low mile examples get tucked away but even low miles I just couldn't help but drive her lots still
so after reading through the average age thread and seeing there wasn't so many youngsters.... got me thinking who has their Trophy as a daily and who has it as a garage/weekend queen?
Mines a daily. With 100k on the clock I guess it's the rare occasion where high miles mean I'm lucky and can...
I just don't get them, even on the proper Clio Cup race cars. There's a 1*2 for sale on csoc that track prepped and it just looks wrong. so wrong. I don't see the point unless its feeding the air into a rear engined car like on the P1 or veyron etc.
that is all
#413. 30 years old and she's my daily, which any one could tell with the state of it after all the motor way miles she did over christmas etc. Bath time this weekend.
