Guys, as already suggested the previous thread has been moved for now due to a number of posts being reported, these were on the grounds of 'internet trolling', 'cyber bullying', inciting hate crimes' and posting personal images without owners permission.
I've got a Scorpion De-cat fitted to my Yozzasport exhaust. The standard cat has a slight offset which the majority of de-cats don't, the yozzasport decat has the offset but they're around £100. You can get the Scorpion De-cat from ebay for £60.
The canister absorbs fuel vapour from the fuel tank, it's then released into the inlet manifold. A solenoid valve (on top of the canister) is controlled by the ECU which is what the ticking noise is. The canister is located behind the drivers side headlight.
Jesus.
I did a bit of testing on the road and a little on track. They have 2.5 turns from fully soft to fully firm (rebound). Basically on a quiet roudabout I would test them by carrying a bit of speed and lifting off and seeing what setting made the car feel the most planted and stable. First...
The timing belt is due every 5 years or 72K from when it was last renewed. You didn't mention the date yours was last fitted but basing it on the milage it's not due until you hit 112K - 117K.
Good idea fitting the oil catch tank Claude. My breather sits directly above the exhaust manifold and seeps quite a bit of oil, i'm worried one day it will catch fire. Does the pipe coming out of the tank just sit near the bottom of the engine bay with a filter on the end?
Ye i'm afraid you probably just looked like a boy racer, especially with the loud exhaust. Sadly it's the image that goes with this car for the majority of narrow minded people.
My locking bolts have also started to rust Marc, not had them long either. A mate of mine had the same problem, he contacted the suppliers which sent him some new ones, they will probably just do the same though. The other bolts still look like new.
Mine started doing this around 2 years ago, I fitted a de-cat pipe and it went away. I did some research and apparently the cat can develop a hair-line crack which you cant see by eye and this causes the whistling noise. Surely enough when I refitted the cat for MOT the whistling noise returned.
I posted a sarcastic comment basically taking the pee and the guy replied saying 'At last, someone who genuinely knows what he is talking about'.
I'm not sure he realised I was being sarcastic. He clearly thinks i'm some sort of mutual idiot.
That was cringe-worthy. I actually feel bad for the guy for humiliating himself on youtube with the worst car review ever.
The joke about hearing the sparrows through the beer can shell was both hilarious and imaginative.
Ha!
I found myself driving out from my workshop in my dads car.
Heckler you look like you're all set for work. Guess you didnt notice the google mobile.
The boot lid dampers seem to lose pressure when it gets cold and they are no longer able to hold the weight so the boot. I think it's just because of the age, if you fitted some new ones they will still hold it up during cold weather. Most still have the original damper fitted.
I very recently installed 4 350W speakers to replace to ones in the doors and back, unfortunetly because of the power they have to be run from a 2000W 4 channel amplifier but this fits very nicely under the passenger seat so you wouldn't know it was there.
The speakers themselves are a...
Looks nice.
With the 'old' Yozzasport exhaust fitted I have found that the design some how puts alot less strain on the original hangers so I don't find the original hangers to be a problem, plus they're only around £10 each to replace anyways.
Interested to hear how it sounds
I had back to back passenger rides in a 182 Cup and Trophy and the cup seemed to roll quite a bit more than the Trophy and generally didn't 'feel' quite as stable. I was actually surprised how much of a difference there was. I'm not saying the Trophy was or felt quicker but it certainly felt...
I plan to keep my sachs for the long run. They are ageing well in terms of corrosion so i'll carry on having them serviced. All dampers are going to deteriate over time and being able to service the Sachs is a bonus for keeping them in top working order. For £600 or so I doubt I can purchase...
