Track prepared trophy on piston heads

Aye, I fully agree. I’ve done a couple of track days in the Trophy and I had a brilliant time but nothing beats tackling a good B Road where it definitely feels more alive. Each to their own though and I bet the owner had a lot of enjoyment driving that around a circuit.

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Good to know Marc and thanks for the info. I always thought that the spare set I have would need servicing before fitting to the car, due to being inactive for long periods, I doubt even cycling them frequently would keep them in top condition. For that you need to remove the adjusting pin and...

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Fair enough, I’m glad you got it sorted and fair play to hoolio for helping out. I’m sure there are some other examples of internal component failure that haven’t been mentioned but it’s not something I’ve come across reading the forum, hopefully it was (and remains to be) a rare case.

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

It would be tricky to make any of these components but I can’t see why they would fail. I’m not sure what’s inside the main shaft assembly but I presume it’s just the shaft and some seals?

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

I haven’t heard of anyone having any internal component replaced other than the shafts, which seem to commonly suffer from scoring. I have a set of dampers which have DLC coated shafts that Rik Perry manufactured, so they’re able to be replicated by anyone with a decent lathe and skills to do...

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Surely they’re only talking about main components? Oil, seals and gas are the only service consumables, unless an internal component has failed.

    Underbody

How does the underbody of the car look currently? I did a fair amount of work tidying up various components to mine a few years ago but none of it included work on the actual body of the car, mainly because there was nothing wrong with it, there was a small amount of rust starting to show at...

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Sorry to hear that. Do they offer any warranty on the work carried out? My main set have failed recently so I need to get them sent off for repair. I have the DLC shafts on them that Rik Perry had made and I’d be surprised if BG Motorsports would be happy to refit those shafts and offer any...

    Very cool thing

Very nice. My friend had a MK1 Golf that kept the Trophy company for a while. It wasn’t practical for him to keep at the time, unfortunately. Nothing like the one mentioned but it reminds me of the time. Lovely car.

    New day…new leak

That's the best image I have of the air conditioning pipes. I don't have one of the top of the dryer.

    New day…new leak

That looks like Air Conditioning Fluid leaking from the Receiver/Dryer unit that's attached to the side of the Condenser. It has 2 pipes attached to the top, they have o-rings that can perish. I literally just replaced the seals on mine this week and the stuff that come out was the same...

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

I'm sure when I got mine back from powdercating I had to file off the paint from the bolt holes so that they would fit, they're a snug fit, designed so that the splined section of the bolt almost locks into the hole, you have to tap it in with a hammer. You don't want to tap it in without...

    Is the Clio Trophy forum....

I can’t believe it was that long ago since the forum opened. I remember growing an obsession for the Clio Trophy when it was first released and before I could reasonable afford to own one, aged 18 at the time. I finally bought one 3 years later after saving some money and I’ve still got the old...

This M2 is my go to vehicle at the minute. I’ve barely driven the Trophy in the last 3 years. I could never sell it though.

Inner anti roll bar bush size

Yes, they were 25mm for the inner and 23mm for the outer. These were the parts I ordered and fitted at the time… Powerflex Front Anti-Roll Bar Inner Mount (x2) - PFF60-202-25 Powerflex Front Anti-Roll Bar Outer Mount (x2) - PFF60-207-23

Inner anti roll bar bush size

Last time I did mine I had the subframe off already so it was considerably easier to fit them. I replaced the original bolts with longer ones so that it would be easier to replace them next time.

    Help With Koni Dampers

Give it some force if it’s tight, it’s a good thing if it’s still a tight fit.

    Help With Koni Dampers

Don’t drill it out. It needs to be tight as that’s the only way it will stay in position when it’s fitted. It sits below the circlip so I’d just remove the circlip to get it past that point, then refit it and go from there.
