i just don’t think the appetite is there with buyers yet to pay anything like the £15k+ optimistically sought by a couple of buyers. The cache is just not there yet. Maybe like the Williams 10yrs ago, albeit there will always be many more williams out there than the Trophy. £15k these days...
I’ve owned mine 6 yrs now and done 3000 miles in my ownership. I’ve got to the point now where its become a bit of a decoration in the garage. Similar with my 200. I think I’ve got to the point with mine where i just see it as an alternative to having my money in the bank. It’s fairly secure...
At one point I had the Trophy, a 200 and a 182 Cup. (I sold the cup for some reason) out of the 3 the cup was the nicest drive and for me I couldn’t really split the cup and the trophy. You wouldn’t get into a trophy and think “wow I’m glad I threw that extra £5k in”
if you gave a nice low...
Wtf is a “soft restoration” it sounds like a couple of rattle cans, a bottle of aldi upholstery cleaner, a whizz over with the DA followed by liberal application of back to black
you mean it’s still yours Jon? Blimey, where have you been hiding whilst we’ve all been blaspheming it. The previous owner is distraught over the condition it’s fallen into...have you seen the FB comments
But is it crazy money really. You’d pay that for a 2 year old average sized family car. My gut feeling though is that it is maybe £2 -3k on the rich side.
As stated, this forum is not really geared up for the 220, there is very little traffic on it. We are all dyed in the wool 182 owners. The new ones are great cars but I think most of the owners have jumped on the FB group clio mk4 rs 200/220 edc/gt .Come back in 10 yrs ??
blimey man....you’re a Yorkshireman, pull yourself together, get a grip and realise there’s some money to be made. You will be able to buy it back for about 300 quid, you’ll get more than that for the seats alone.
Just buy it back if it’s totalled. They will probably offer you it for about £300. My mates 2010 insignia was written off for some dents in the door. He bought it back for £420.
Dont let it go for salvage
This is my comment on the FB Trophy link....I’ve been in trouble before on there for mild expletives so toned it down
“What a poor attempt at listing a car and then expecting to get top money. The photos are all over the place, low resolution junk. Zero effort in preparation, mud up the...
I’ve not been on it since. In all honesty it’s the same stuff just going round but seems to have found a bit more of a new audience. I guess getting people from outside ownership isn’t a bad thing as they are future owners potentially.
I guess the brutal truth is if you don’t want to put...
There’s only 700 members on the FB page so quite low to be falling out. I’m guessing it’s not affiliated in any way to this site other that a common interest in the marque
Now I’m presuming that most of the people on the FB Trophy group will be on here and possibly vice versa so what is it about FB that turns people into idiots. Is it the instant conversation element of it that enables people to launch into a response without engaging their brain.
I don’t know...
Good news and well done ?. It was always going to be an awkward one to judge as I put in a previous post, they always say there’s someone out there for everything, sounds like you found that person. Frankly I had my doubts given its departure from the standard car and the work involved for...
