Me too, I love my Cossie...but I need to sell it soon. Sadly, an extension to the house is deemed more important than keeping the Cossie. Can you believe it? Lol.
A little bit of a healthy debate. I'm sure we all agree that for performance, the Trophy is the best 182 Clio out there.
However, what's your thoughts on some of the rarer coloured and highly desirable 182's? I'm talking about liquid yellow and petrol blue 182's.
So, what would you rather...
Yeah, I've heard that Trophy's are pretty durable and aren't too bad for underside treatment from the factory. Plus, I'd be more inclined to use it come rain or shine than I would with the Cossie.
Sometimes it just makes sense to have something I'll no doubt be able to enjoy more often than...
I know and the reality is us Ford nuts would be lying if we didn't have one eye on values. If anyone says differently then they're lying. It's better than money in the bank and it appreciates at around £2k per year at the moment. It's quite sad from a neutral point of view though as it should be...
Haha! To be fair, I hardly use my Cossie and I often feel sorry for it just sitting locked away when it should really be out there playing with the pretenders to its throne. I just don't have the time I hoped to have with it...and even when I free up time to play with it the weather usually lets...
I'm totally on that wavelength and unless you're buying a concours car then there's always something you'd want to replace/rebuild/re-style etc. I like to save cars in need and whilst at it I'd be doing things that should be done to it (belts replaces, water pump replaced, Sachs refurbished...
After deciding not to cash in on my Sierra Cosworth to free some funds up, I am now exploring the possibility of Trophy ownership from the cheaper end of the scale (i.e. Project/restoration cars or previously written off examples).
What's out there and what sort of prices are being asked...
You've just shown that if you're brace enough then there's bargains to be had.
I don't mind a minor Trophy project, so one of the "cheaper" ones will probably suit me fine in my circumstances.
I really need to pull my finger out and get saving for one.
I was all set to sell my Sierra Cosworth to buy a Trophy....until everyone told me I was being silly. Still, I need one, so I'll have to get saving.
Enjoy your bargain Jaine :-)
Is there much of a difference in the Phase 1 and Phase 2 as far as driving them in concerned. I know there's a difference in power, but how do they compare handling-wise?
What's the consensus about phase 1 and phase 2 Vee's? Has anyone owned both to give a fair assessment. I gather the phase 1 handles worse, but is that it aside from the cosmetic differences?
What's the thoughts on phase 1 v phase 2 vee's? Phase 1's seem to get panned for their handling, but phase 2 is only said to be marginally better in that department.
Why is there usually a slight price difference between the phases? Is it simply because phase 1 is older, therefore cheaper, or...
What would you rather tell your mates down the pub about what you had in your garage? A Vee or a Trophy? There's gotta be an element of that that makes the Vee very appealing to, surely?
