I am slowly restoring mine bit by bit and trying to get it back to as original as I can. Quite enjoy the car with some tasteful mods, but it's really coming to life restoring everything to how it was designed and built. Recently had a full respray and the car looks like one of the best, albeit...
Definately not since my ownership from 2009. The rear shocks were replaced a few years back as I had a spare set, but the springs have only ever been removed, tidied and refitted.
Just noticed a full set of 182 Cup shocks and springs have been listed on ebay which might be worth keeping an eye on. Seriously want to get my rear beam done this year, but surprised how well my original springs (148k miles) have done and little signs of rust!
I don't think there was much to it once the front seats are out, was a bit of a pain on the ground but I managed to do the 2 inner rail bolts without removing the exhaust from memory. The other side trims, rear side trims and front centre surrounds were all a doddle ?
Very sad, I cannot think how I'd be feeling in your shoes. If you need any help with the claim let me know as worked with motor insurance for 15 years +. If there is an option to keep the vehicle plus a pay out that would be my choice, but depends if you have the heart to pull it apart yourself...
Ideal if you also have a spare set of springs and spring hats / top mounts. A breeze with just the strut top cap under the bonnet and the 2 bolts to the hub, providing the top cap isn't too tight!
For sale is a 90° induction hose in good condition, was fitted to the car when I purchased it in 2009 and putting it all back to stock.
£25 including postage.
Amazed at how these resist the rust to be honest, I don't think I've noticed anything other than a tiny bubble on a rear arch that was a couple of mm in length, and that's living near the sea and high miles on the car. Interesting to know the hotspots for rust and areas to protect. I've seen...
Capital seating are a Recaro specialist and the quote I had was reasonable, but in the same predicament as you with my drivers seat. I'm waiting for a local company to get me booked in who quoted £80+vat for just the imitation leather section
I've never used cornering force and aware that there are a couple of other options but I paid £144 Inc vat each and the service received was the best yet ?
Is that for a service with the pistons replaced?
There are far more competitive places, approximately £250 + VAT for a service of both shocks is what I would expect.
Admittedly my service prices at BG years ago were much steeper than this but I did have one piston replaced which pushed it...
