Sad times, hope you get a positive outcome. There is no way it will cost you £4.5k to rectify, I would say £1k tops. You could get a turbo conversion for less with a decent rebuild to suit!
Been a bad month for some, had all my belts and tensioners done and the alternator bracket failed almost...
£180 seems a good deal for the 4 springs, may have to consider these if and when I get a broken spring!
Quick question - do you still need the bottom coil plastic cover for the front springs like the standard ones?
Rule of thumb - if it's a red light do not drive, if its orange drive with caution and get it checked out asap.
Mine recently had 3 red lights on the dash and heater gauge went to max - was lucky I turned her off straight away as was very close to the cam belt failing! (alternator bracket snapped)
The dealers emailed me saying the dampers were not for my car and said I needed special ones! They then sent me a picture of the new damper..........
Have ordered a few bits from them before including an aux belt kit for near on £50 + postage!
Stunned is the word! Search for the part number in google with no spaces and you will discover a very useful website. They should arrive tomorrow or Saturday if all is well :D
Managed to get 2 rear Sachs dampers for £65 each posted. Brand spankers so cannot wait to get them fitted!
Amazing what you can find ringing around a few dealers ;-)

Had a play with the brakes on the way home tonight and definate 'issue' and I can only assume it is from the rear. Must either be worn shocks or issue with the rear brakes.
Can the rear dampers look ok but just weaken over time?
Hi,
Had dampers refurbed in August 2009 at BG Motorsport so should be no issues there (I hope!!)
The Trophy does seem to wander a lot I must say - very harsh on uneven road surfaces I guess. Had wheels off tonight to clean arches and no damage to any of the springs and dampers do not appear...
