Have had a few interested in the car and almost had a sale but the buyer pulled out, now looking for offers IRO of £8k.
Just recently had its MOT.
Drop me a pm if interested 👍
For anyone not already aware I have put my Trophy up for sale. The full details are on the Facebook project page for anyone who does not have access please let me know and I will send you the info over.
Car is just shy of 153,000 but has had the big jobs done, external respray, cam belt...
Working with a few experts in the motor trade, have had a flick through some of the images for this sale and do have some reservations, but in no terms am I saying anything to go against this being a high value, low mileage and collectable example.
It strikes me from this image and some of the...
Given your track record I don't see why it wouldn't justify that sort of price tag. After you detailed it last time it absolutely popped, has to be one of the best examples about?
Interesting to see the differences, its like spot the difference. Was not aware of the alloy variants I must admit.
Wonder how many still on original front and rear damper types, springs and all original alloys? I think I might be one of them but will have to check my alloys just incase!
This...
Seems a good price and instills some confidence in the work and money I have put into #189 (just hit 150k).
Some things I noticed from the images on the listing, but being pedandic perhaps, was:
Damaged front splitter in at least 2 places
Cracked rear spoiler
After market parrot kit (hard...
Hi mate, I did a year long resto of 189 after it was left at a friend's bodyshop for 2 and a half years and came out a little worse for wear. The page below but let me know if you need any help. I did some of the work on a budget, and used Cookesport for the shocks, decent price and turnaround 👍...
I went for replacement brand new bushes (Pure Motorsport Cornwall) and the Lemforder ball joints. Quick clean and paint and job done, at a fraction of the cost.

Got really confused with all the adapters so decided to get my hands on one of the old Sony stereos with Renault plugs for both the heads up display and steering controls, works a treat 😎
I have had the Janspeed on mine since owned in 2009 and the silenced mid section lost a baffle and rattled like mad. Ktec sourced me the unsilenced section to replace it and it sounds perfect. I don't want silence when I drive it, burbles lovely at idle and not overly noisy to hack off the...
I did a day in some stain remover, day in washing powder, scrub with a block brush and Autoglym interior cleaner, and then a jet wash off, were light and day different.
There is also some method to my madness but good old cable ties and the metal brackets allowed them to be hung dry.
I cannot imagine Renault would do the original exhaust but still see them pop up occasionally on FB marketplace or ebay, they really are poor compared to a decent stainless and I think the exit pipes look far too small.
The heating controls are terrible, mine has been replaced once and makes...
I had mine off from the front and gave them a 3 stage cleaning after the car was left open to the elements at its storage location during a shoddy repair, came out like new but it was a lot of work. Left the rears sat in a big plastic bath in the boot and again worked a treated.
I used to have the urge to do this but I actually quite like the cheap basic interior, not overly keen on the grey belts and seen some converted red ones which look really cool. Had a 172FF for many years that had all the toys but don't miss any of them bar the Xenons which again a few have...
