I'm not certain how these were attached from new but it looks like the adhesive strip is weakening on my passenger side. It seems to sag in sunlight and then rise up again.

Is there a recommended way for these to attach? (other than the screws along the bottom obviously...)

@NickReilly063 You're right Nick there should be a line of clips along the body which I think the top edge of the side skirt clips over, these should hold the the skirt flush with the body along the top edge.

@Patrick Bateman I've dug out an exterior fitting manual pdf for you, it's for a 172 mk1, but I'm pretty certain the side skirts are fitted in the same way, there's a section on removal, clips & location etc: see attachment.

Hope that helps. (y)

IMG_2236.pngIMG_2235.pngHi Patrick.
Not sure why double sided tape is holding on the side skirts on your car.
I removed them on my RB car to clean and refresh the cills.
The top of the skirt is held on by many black plastic clips. The bottom is attached with pop rivets which need drilling out and can be replaced.

Ahhh now seeing all this I’ve worked it out. My rear arches were replaced 3 years ago and they don’t appear to come with the holes for these.

I wonder if they’re still on the area towards the front ahead of where the new quarter panel finished.
