Hi folks,

Finally getting around to having my Trophy alloys refurbed and painted by a local company that has done some car and bike wheels for me in the past.

Has anyone managed to get the right colour like the originals, with similar levels of glossy?

Should the alloy match the center cap colour?

Any advice to getting it right would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The paint colour code is Ixell 205-110. They are painted by the way, there are no powder coat colours that are an exact match.

Originally the wheels had a speedline sticker under the gloss coat. Although Speedline don't offer replacement stickers anymore there is a seller on ebay that offers a close reproduction.

The colour code that Mike has said above is a very good colour match - it also matches the wheel centres perfectly as you can see from mine below -

Are those wheel nut covers Nick? I'm on the lookout for a set of wheel nuts or covers that match the wheels really well.

Thanks @Mike256 @NickReilly063 - appreciate the guidance.

So the suggestion is to have the wheels painted rather powder coated?

I also have a set of the Speedline Corse stickers that I was going to put on. Would they put the stickers on before laquer?

Thanks!

I'm getting them added under the lacquer so they will last a bit longer

So just had mine refurbished but when they came back they got the wrong colour. I'm undecided whether to get them sorted, so was curious what you all thought.

So mine are currently a similar colour yours are now, they were incorrectly done by the previous owner:

Although your center caps look better matched.

Reserecting a thread from its slumber.

I'm struggling to find anyone to wet paint the alloys in the factory colour. This is the powdercoat match I've seen.

Is this close enough to the factory colour or can I get a recommendation for a shop that can do the closet factory colour match.

All the dark anthracite powder coat finishes I've seen tend to be a tad darker than the original factory paint colour. I guess it depends on how hung up you want to be on originality. I personally don't mind an anthracite alloy, but then I would say that as the ones on No.407 were powder coated before I had the car and it's never really bothered me too much.. :D
