As a 182 with cup chassis owner, not a Trophy, I would be interested to hear thoughts on this.
I think the 182 cup chassis has nice balance but the ride doesn't have much flow. I suggest that the cup spring rates (which 182 cup rates are said to be the same as the Trophy, though untested by me)...
Trophy turinis are 7 inches wide, as are 182 and 172 16 inch alloys (and also the original 15 inch OZ F1's on the first 172). No problem with the width being wrong for the rim.
Not saying it's the best size, mind you (I would deffinately want 205 width if there was a tyre I liked at a sensible...
I've read the evo test and, whilst I love the Mag, the occasional tyre testing they do has become worse of late IMO. I do like the fact they give a fair weighting to "subjective" as well as the figures in all disciplines though.
I completely agree with that said above, I now have the original...
Good stuff, Quality tyres are always worth it to me.
As you say the car is now how you like it in the corners I doubt there is any problem at all in the setup. I just disagree that it will have been given toe-in, that's all. From what you said you seem to have perfectly described the pro's and...
I agree with Allan, the character of the steering when set correct seems to be a bit reluctant to give feel on the straight-ahead. I disagree that toe in csuses it, when I have tried toe in it makes dead-ahead feel better to me - more feel! But overall the factory settings of a little toe out...
I have had my scorpion 192 since the middle of last year. I've had the common tinny/whistly noise under hard accelleration and sometimes the warm-up phase has been more than just rough, actually missfiring.
No obvious sign of leaks and no soot around any of the joints. I have not used any...
I never quite understood Michelin discontinuing the PE2 in our size. Would welcome it back.
In response to the comments above on tire tests, I agree that there are plenty of good tyres in 205/45 size that score well in tests. In measured assessments there is always very little to differentiate...
