Hi,

What are the thoughts on Hankook v12 evo2 over the Michelin PE3 W 87 xl...?

If it was the choice between those two I would also go for the Michelins.

AD08Rs are a very competent tyre worth considering - that's where my money goes.

Hi Claude

Considering the AD08Rs. They are marketed as a summer / track tyre on the site I have looked at. How do they fare in the wet / slightly colder months? Feels like I would need a set of winters to go with them as my Trophy is a daily driver?

I have been more than happy with my Evo2 tyers, they have seen 18months of use and about 16k miles, they still have 4mm across the tread, but the outer shoulders are like slicks , do not slow down much for bends lol

Just to clarify Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R 205/45 R16 W (83) the ones you go for... about to click the button!

Are these the Hankook ones Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 K120 205/45 R16 W (87)...?

Does anyone else have any comments before I click? :) :)

I run my AD08Rs on Speedline 2118s in 195/50/15.

Tempted to get some for the Turinis in 205/45/16.

As for winter use - I only drive 3-4k annually so not representative. I have bought some Continental winters which are currently on a spare set of Turinis but it never got bad enough to fit them - the Yokos have been fine.

Standing water may be a problem for the AD08s but how often do you come across that hazard and is it worth buying a specific tyre good at that discipline? Just drive to the conditions...

The V12's are standard fit on a lot of the bigger Mercedes-Benz I get to drive and always been impressed with them. But not driven them on a trophy.

Keep us posted guys as I have a mix of Pirelli P Zero Nero's on the front and Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2's on the rear.

Looking to get a matching set all round soon as the fronts are nearly finished.

I fitted a complete set of 205/45 Yoko AD08R tyres to my Trophy last month and have been very pleased with them in all conditions so far. Can't wait to get them properly scrubbed in and tested on track!

How do the Pirelli behave? Only read bad reviews but cannot imagine pirelli building a bad tyre.

Out of my experience the YOKOS like warm and dry weather. Wet performance is ok but not compareable
with a Conti or Dunlop or Michelin. But in the dry they are a class of its own! Tested on track and humdrum drives
on a Clio williams. Not recommended as your single choice tyre because of the wet weather abilities.

Hi,

Just put on a full set of Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R 205/45 R16 W (83).... They're no scrubbed in yet but my very initial thoughts are good. Much quieter that the Michelins too. I will give a proper review soon :)
