Ticking seat belt

As above on my Clio trophy if i take the belt of it stops . any ideas .

you mean the bleaper or is it the actual seat belt.... or seat belt clamp? where's thenoise coming from?

No not the bleeper its coming from about ear height .

I do not have this bleeping noise, or the light on the dash! Do you think they forgot to put it in mine?

bit of lube on the hinge ala mid 80's VW ad is probably the cure

If it's ear height it won't be the inertia reel system, that's anchored down at the floor pan, it might be something rubbing against the belt where it comes out from the B pillar. I would definitely take it to Renault pronto, or you could crash into a tree, hope it fails and you live and get an enormous settlement.

I will get the trim off and have a look but i cant see why it stops when i take the belt off ?

I feel so stupid the wife called me sad for doing this . I put a PVC patch where the belt rubs on the seat near the right shoulder and the belt rubbing on that was making the ticking
Now made up a cloth one .
