I have a lovely Trophy that is SORN'd and garaged which, unfortunately, I am struggling to justify keeping. My other car is a 300bhp Impreza Turbo and I just can't see me going back to regularly using the Trophy at any point. I could also do with releasing the funds to run the Scoob! Spec of Trophy is:

-48k miles
-lovely condition (not seen a winter in my 5 year ownership)
-Front Sachs refurbed at 42k in 2012.
-Eibach Sportlines fitted c.4k ago
-Koni Yellow Adjustable rear shocks fitted 1.5k ago along with full geo check
-Brembo HC discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads on front and OE spec rear discs/pads fitted 6k ago
-Front tyres are PS3s with around 7k miles on them
-Rear tyres are PE2s which are nearing the legal limit IIRC
-Oil changed every year in my ownership

Bad points:

-exhaust hanger is broken and system is hanging off at an angle
-Will need a big timing belt etc service this year
-Front NS alloy has one small kerb mark

My questions:
-Is it worth buying a new exhaust and getting the service done or should I just bodge an exhaust repair and (honestly) sell as-is?
-What is the general consensus on where the market is/where it's going for low mileage Trophys in good condition?
-Is £5.5-6k feasible with the above work done? £4.5-5k without maybe?

Input would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hi,

I'd say your values are about right. The market seems to be on the rise atm, but it is a slow rise. How long that will continue for is anyone's guess. But I do think that there is ultimately a limit to how much someone will pay for a clio. The exhaust hanger is a cheap fix, assuming the exhaust itself is fine. The standard mount is rubbish and i replaced mine every service as exhaust heat perishes the rubber. I've now got a VAG one, which came with the Pure Motorsport exhaust. it's a lot more robust and I'd recommend to anyone. If you search back to my post you will find it.

Whereabouts in the country are you and who is your local RenaultSport specialist?

Hmmm. In that case I wonder if it's worth taking a hit on the sale price and leave it to the new buyer to select a specialist of their choosing.

It would be much better if they were done but better done by a specialist than a generic local garage, in my opinion.

Good luck, whichever way you choose to go.
