I was told they are not leather but pvc type stuff the same as the seat belt covers .

Yep - i'll second that. On the plus side i'm thinking we might not have to worry about the 'leather' aging and cracking over time

aahh i thought you were talking about the bit you sat on rather than the side bolsters, the don't matter anyway - leather fades, ages and cracks. So the fact that they arent is a plus point.
