Going to have the alignment/tracking, camber settings ajusted.

So many threads on here with varying opinion.

I use the trophy as my daily drive and trackday toy when Im in the mood which usually involves driving to the ring lol!

I need to know the factory settings if possible and please the general consensus on what is the best set up for the dampers.

Im using standard camber bolts also

Thanks so much in advance

Ady :)

Well you want -2 degrees camber at the front, so you will either need H&R camber bolts or get the old ones re-machined by a specialist.

Dampers, standard is 20 clicks on both sides, I always left mine a bit more though, around 26-28 (firmer) and then near on maximum for track.

When sachs reconditioned mine, they said that the standard setting was 22-24.

Don't machine the bolts - you will end up with stress points - it is fine to elongate the top holes in the flanges on the upright. 2mm will give the right amount of camber. Otherwise run standard settings - this is toe out at the front , circa 10' to 15'.

Yep, 23 clicks is dead centre on both my sets.

Hoolio - yes as best as I can remember - would have to check my files. You will remember that I ran 10' out, which was as the car was delivered and always seemed fine - I think it was at the lower end of the range quoted by Renault, but definitely always toe-out.

i must say for day to day driving with a good compromise for track use i found -2.0 camber and neutral toe to be better, certainly the tyres have lasted longer since i switched the neutral toe. The camber makes most difference to cornering - standard is -1.0 iirc (not 100% sure though)

You'll need aftermarket bolts - as george says don't machine them, not worth the risk. You can pick some good ones up for £25 to £30. Look up larkspped on google or through the garage section.

I had my tracking checked recently and it was out by 0.5 which I found quite interesting.

Ah, i always assumed that they originally ran just a little toe out and that you had dialed this in yourself.

Unfortunately i didn't get this checked before i had it worked on unlike the camber which i did and was -0.5 and -0.75 also both rears were -1.5.
