Standard CD Player

I still have the standard cd player in my car and about two weeks ago it started to read error cd when I tried to play a cd, no matter what cd it was even new ones that were not scratched at all. Then a few days ago it started working fine, has anyone else experienced this?

Mine did the same on Sunday near the end of the CD. Took it out and put it back it but again Err. Put in a different CD and it was OK.

Almost always dirt on the lense, stick a car vac up to the slot and it might clear it. The stereo doesn't play CD-R's very well either, some not at all.

Cheers guys, all seems to be fine now so not going to worry too much. If it starts again I'll take it down to renault.
