    Hi everyone

Just picked up my trophy and there's a few noises making me nervous to say the least, I want to get the car fully examined so I can feel confident taking it out and about.

I have contacted Mick at Diamond Motors but he isn't available to look at it till Mid November and I don't want things getting worse despite the fact I won't be using it much!

I have seen there is a place called Midland Renault Specialist but I can't find much about them, could someone kindly point me in the right direction so I can get the car checked over and get the gremlins worked on!

    Cheers

    Sam

My advice would be wait for Mick if it's not a daily.

Forgot to say there is a reason Mick can't look at it till mid November.. if you think about it, the place you don't want is the one with space tomoorwo mornjng.

It's true I appreciate that basically the noises are as follows:
Clutch in no noise otherwise when the clutch is out there's a noise sounds like a clutch release baring but the clutch was replaced by birchdown autos.
Second noise is when I pull off from a standstill it clunks twice then goes.
The gearbox feels good doesn't crunch and the gears don't grind neither so hoping it's not gearbox related!
Been for the tracking today and I have a loose track rod end so don't know if that explains anything! Has had a driveshaft replaced earlier this year too....
Just want someone to look at it!

There is a place in Derby called Aaron’s auto they race 182’s and specialise in later 200’s and megane’s. Might be worth a shout.

Thanks mate will take a look. Well lads at my workplace have had a look and they suspect gear box bearings. Is this quite common on the trophys? Mileage is 88k

    Cheers

Mark Black at Midlands Renault Specialist looks after my cars, Mick is great but Mark is closer for me and he's on par with Mick. Both top guys that know their stuff.

Mark is in Creswell near Worksop.

Cheers Greg I think that's the garage I have seen on Facebook well reluctantly to update this I decided to release the car to the mechanics at my work (Honda main dealer) and they love the car to bits so were all desperate to get involved and the general feeling was the clutch release bareing is the issue as well as a noisy drive shaft and top mount on the drivers side. Got all genuine Renault parts and going to see if this overcomes the issues if so after having it on the ramps I can't wait to enjoy the car we all agreed it's a good example! Will get some photos up in the coming days!

Not got any photos just yet which is rubbish of me! Work is well underway while the parts were being stripped off we noticed the engine mount was extremely loose I am now hoping this is the cause of the knocking noise I can hear when I pull off (fingers crossed) I have ordered the Skoda Fabia front splitter as my carbon K-TEC one looks worse for wear. I have a replacement heater panel going on too and new plates as I never liked the Renaultsport plates bit chavvy for me.
I have two questions though: I have no owners manual is it just a normal Clio 182 one?
And secondly my alarm system makes beeping noises which are very loud can these be turned off? I have two beeps to unlock and one beep when I lock it.

    Thanks for any help!

    Sam
