I thought it would be interesting to see just what can be had if you were to sell up, had no idea it would bag this little lot!

The list goes on! I didn't even include all the TVR's due to the actual cost of driving it home being nearer £20K.

And this!

Problem is take any one of them on a trackday and itll do well to stay ahead of the little clio and cost an absolute fortune to do so, munching brakes, tyres, feul, etc, etc - where's the FUN in that :?

My evo 6 was a fast car, no doubt, but fun - well thats a different story, im not so sure. Put it this was I wasnt sad to see it go...and neither was my bank account

I knew you'd like that one!

I totally agree, the Trophy is soooo much fun and so cheap to run, it makes other cars seem a bit silly.

But the 'Stang though, I guess you've got to really love them but what a beauty. I'd never part with £10K for a non fastback though, i'd always hanker after a 390GT.

A friend of mine just got rid of his cream mustang, always loved the idea of them but was suprised at how similar it was to driving a small bus.

Do you know I actually clicked on that, saw it was a Trophy, chuckled and started reading and thought "That bastard's knicked my description!"

Yeah Faze i agree, really liking that e30 tourer - not sure its worth anywhere near 8k though.

Not sure if its online but i noticed in this weeks autotrader there was a 1 owner Focus RS with 81k and FSH for £9995 ono - that seems like a decent price even cosidering the higher miles.

It's amazing how many interesting cars could be bought for Trophy money (E36 M3, Evo 6, Impreza P1), being a petrol head makes life so confusing when purchasing time comes, balancing the character and appeal of older cars with the reliability and performance of modern cars...Pistonheads has made finding cars that you choose with your heart rather than your head so much easier!

7k then? The price has just been reduced...

I'd pick it over a focus RS any day!

M3 - pre '99 they didn't have TC and so are lethal in the wet (believe me I bent one and i wasn't even trying)

Evo - high running costs and the engines go on them very early.

Tiger - weekend toy not an everyday car

Lotus - will start to break after 50k miles

P1 - see Evo

911 - bit too old, even the 993 is dated when you sit in them now - 996 is the oldest one i'd look at.

Skyline - wait for the insurance quote.

WRX - nice car... same story as the prvious P1 and Evo

the 'Tang, hmmm, i'd consider that..... wait 8 mpg.....

Punto - lmao

Trophy.... steve if you've got issues 83 + 95 of Evo, give them a read. You'll miss the little blighter.

How about this??????

Seen that one £1,500 too expensive for me (and £500 too expensive for a private sale too).

Got Issue 83? I bought mine on the strength of that article Cue!

Aye, so did i... i dug them both out for another re-read last night, i think issue 84 is also a good issue to sway the Trophy must stay argument. The best FWD issue iirc.

Having said that there's a case for a DC2 - I need to get behind the wheel of one of those to see for myself how the Trophy got beat into 2nd spot.

Still think 7k is a bit high. I've seen similar 2 door sports with the e36 conversion struggle to hit over 6k and they have looked completely immaculate - inside and out. The leather look a bit tired in the tourer.

I agree though, i'd much rather have that than a focus RS anyday!

Can we make Gareth read those articles in an attempt to make him keep the Trophy and sell the liquid maybe? I know its too late now for Steve.....
