Ok, a hot topic which has been covered in different ways, but for those of you that have had a service or have one coming up in the not so distant future, i'm just trying to find out where you've had yours done/where you'll choose.

I'm at 11000 miles so mine isnt far away. I've heard good things about GDi who are pretty close to me; similarly i've also heard good things about Ren-Tech who aren't so close to me.

In terms of pricing, my main stealer's have come in at £241 quid, GDI are £162 and Ren-Tech £127 (iirc). Who would you choose?

If you had a main dealer like me you wouldn't go anywhere else :)

Very competitive and in the hands of a guy who really knows his stuff - London West (100% owned by Renault and their largest dealership; not a franchise).

my local stealer has had the car once for warranty work, kept the car all day, didn't fix the problem and left me with a dented door. on the plus side after some arguing they repaired the dent using their dentmaster guy

I'm on 10K, so a trip to Portsmouth in the next month or so is on the cards.

Mike - if you're reading this, could you tell me how much for a 12K service without the oil change? I'm doing my own. Will you still be able to give a service stamp without doing the oil?

Cheers.

Rentech for me as I am a Southern lad, and they were great when me and the missus freshened up the Williams supension there earlier in the year.

There are both positive and negative threads about GDI on the internet, never used them myself, so I can't comment, hopefully someone who has had some work done by them will post in this thread.

A couple of people on this forum have had their Trophy's serviced by BB tuning and have only had positive things to say.

Yeah. GDi are local to me and i consider the service i have had from them so far to be 100%. They have looked at my Tomato car for a number of reasons now and i cant fault them at all. Great advice and their prices seem to be really reasonable too!

Im sure anyone recommended on this site should be ok. Just have to weigh up travelling, time off work etc.

Good luck with your choice!

After using Renault UK's servicing website to check some prices at dealers near my work and home (plus Ollie's London West), these were the prices they listed for the 12,000 service.
Hardings, Bovingdon: £193.53
Camden Motors, Dunstable: £202.83
Waters, St. Albans: £274.68
Renault Watford: £282.49
Renault London West: £295.59
I'm sure they have perfectly acceptable reasons for the huge difference :? :p

Duffer - I've always had change from £200 when using Renault London West's Minute Service :) It included a full 12k service plus a tyre change (fitted and balanced), as well as a loan car (big bonus points in my book).

I normally don't like to quote what I've paid but feel I must make an exception to the rule looking at the price you've quoted... yikes!

Ya I didn't think you'd be bigging them up if you paid those prices
I'm gonna call around and see if they quote a lower price, especially Renault Watford, as they're couple hundred yards from the office.

you've saved me making further calls - half of these garages are local to me :D

still can't justify the differences in price though :?

main dealer for me all the way. the guy in charge of the workshop at DS Dalgleish in Hawick has a lot to do with the Jim Clark Rally and i know him quite well. He had 4 people working on my v6 when it was getting serviced while he watched their every move.

Cant get much better than that for 120 quid with a set of wiper blades

i think a 182 service will de more expensive than a v6 service from what ive heard but not anywhere near a service yet. May get them to change the oil soon

I asked the guys who run the local cliosport 'meet' nearest to me for some advice, they told me to use the main Renault dealer in Durham (Reg Vardy).

Cost was only £178 for the 12,000 mile service and included a 1 litre top-up carton of oil, funnel and wipes. There were no 'unforseen' extras to pay for.

Booked it in at 8.30am and told them I would wait for it. Service took 1hr 40 mins

I also booked a test drive of the new RenaultSport Clio and by the time I came back from the drive and chatted to the salespeople, I only had 20 minutes to wait for the car to be done.

Because, like many of you, I am a bit anal about other people messing with the car, I asked them to do a bodywork inspection before the work (just in case any magic dent or scratches appeared), which they were happy to do. I also asked them not to wash and valet the car. This saved time while waiting and again reduced the risk of some retard scratching it. I explained to them how much care I take with the car and they were brilliant with the car - even re-parking it away from other cars to avoid door-opening dents.

Took the car straight out for a 25 mile test drive around the country roads to check it out and it feels better than new.
