Just had a quote for my service. Let's say it's expensive at £1,046 !

Is this normal? Anyone recommend a garage?

Car hasn't been looked at by them yet just a standard quote for a Clio sport 182.

They are usually very good, sailed through MOT with them.

I live near Cambridge so I'm sure plenty of garages. I'll just have to look about. Just want to know
much I should have to pay roughly.

Just what you want before Xmas.

Well lets not forget that a standard 72K service will include cam belt and auxillary belt kits, so that sounds about a standard price. One of the Renault specialist should be able to quote you a price that is half that of Renault.

Yeah the list of parts to be changed is epic I'll post them up but it wasn't a Renault garage. They are OneStop of St Ives.

Try Danny at 519 Automotive, I used him for my last service. It will be a little bit of a trip from Cambridge, but he seems to work mainly on Renault sport clios, and his prices are reasonable.

I had mine done in March by a ex-renault dealer and it cost me £850 but i did get most of the parts :Aux Belt Kit, Cambelt Kit, Depahser Pulley and core plugs from someone who works for Renault. I got these at Trade plus 10% so just under £370 a saving of around £150. Then Spark Plugs are best part of £50 so £1k isn't a million miles off although it might not include the Depahser Pulley which is about £160 but if it starts to go (engine start to sound rattly like a diesel) it's a full strip down again!!

I got mine done at Rentech was about 900 inc. dephaser which had some play in it so got it done on the safeside, as i remember most of the cost was parts i think he charged 4 hours labour at 50 an hour, oh and i got the air con regassed as well, made a difference when the weather got really hot even though its a pretty crappy system. I live in Portsmouth and had heard good things, reputation counts especially thinking about valves smashing pistons if you go to someone not recommended even some reno places and they often mess the timing up.

I got mine done for £400 all genuine Renault parts and Renault stamp in the book. But it helps when you work for Renault ;P
