ok then just to add a bit of humuor to the forum...
What is the most rediculess / stupid / unbelivable thing a dealer has ever done / said to yourself...
i'll start with this one...
when we bought my wifes R27 (ex demo) i asked the dealer to touch up a small scuff on the front wheel, in their wisdom they decided to spray the whole wheel by hand ...on the car !!!!. They then sprayed the other front wheel which was fine "so it would match" which it obivously didnt!, it wasnt even the same colour as the rear ones which were obivously lighter, they hadnt even "keyed" the wheels either so the day i picked it up the paint had already started to lift off !!!
i made them change the alloys (now i have 2 spare in the garage ) i even had to t cut the overspray off the calipers when we got home, god only knows how they would have tackled that one.

Don't get me started on dealers. I've had problems with nearly everyone within the NW.

What annoys me is that Renault UK say they provide excellent customer service and top of customer satisfaction surveys. And you put your car into the dealers and they haven't a clue or care one bit about providing any decent customer service. I feel the problem is the people they employ, no real people skills and don't want to do THAT much work.

Some laughable "problems" I've had are...

Not being able to find my car, even though it's in their car park!
Not being able to communicate to another department, even though they are 50 yards away next door.
And one dealer closing up shop and everyone going home with my car still in their hands without my consent #-o

Read my "check your brake discs" thread for more detail:

Basically, not check the condition of the brake discs and pads at all, then when I ring to complain after it shortly after failed the MOT on discs and pads, service desk said they would "have to check whether checking brakes was part of the three year service". :?:

Checked my service report and they had claimed there was 6mm of rear pad left, in actual fact about 1mm.

having an open argument with the service manager at halifax, when it was open, about whether i'd customised the car - only 4 weeks old at the time. He thought i'd put aftermarket seats in so didn't qualify for warranty work on the runner.

also had similar chats with bradford when they fecked up my oem 'zorst before i stuck the prospeed on.

and then there was huddersfield who thought i'd put aftermarket suspension on it.... idiots.

Dealers... don't get me started. They haven't a clue; especially where the Trophy is concerned. Feckwits...

I was going to tell my tales of woe but it just makes my blood boil... although I've actually had the same 'this is not a standard seat' issue as Cue and got charged best part of £300 for! Lot's of shouting and ranting saw me receive a full refund. Oh, and then the engineer that snapped my aux belt during fitting, broke his finger, couldn't get a replacement, ordered one for next day, kept my car, went to pick it up next day, they'd forgotten to order, left my car (fuming) went back, didn't have courtesy car, Easter arrived, no car for Easter and needed it, 1 day service took 1 week, 36k major service including sparks/filter changes - nothing was changed, I could go on... thank God for RenTech and other indie specialists.

And relax...

Took my car into an RUK garage to have the common too sensitive volumetric alarm sensors issue fixed. Told the service staff exactly what it was, after reading about it on the forums, went back at the end of the day and was told they hooked it up to their diagnostic machines and couldn't find any problems. So the mechanic asked if it only goes off when I leave the window down and I told him ya I always leave the windows down overnight  So I told the mechanic what I'd learnt on the forums about the alarm, he said, no thats not it, but can they keep it for 24hrs and see if it goes off while sitting in their car park.

I said no, took it to another Reno garage and said I have a problem with my alarm...they said no problem, and they'd need the car for an hour. Booked it in, dropped it off, went for breakfast down the cafe, came back and the alarm was fixed. Suffice it to say I've been using that garage ever since.

The Reno garage in Watford was the crap one and the Reno garage in Harpenden was/is the good one.

Ive had 2 notable ones with renault dealers;

Like when i drove down to a dealer in my Renault 21 T to order a part for it only to be told that the R21 T doesnt exist.... yet it was parked in front of thier showroom.

Another time i visited a dealer in the Trophy with a knackered ball joint only to be told i need a brand new fuel tank and that it would cost me over £200 even though it was under warranty and apparrently my perfectly good working fuel tank need replacing and that the invisible damage was due to wear and tear #-o .
