Got into the car tonight.
Tried to move the seat back....nothing.
Shunted it forward to then move it back... went forward not back.

Bugger!

Tried again.... seat now fully forward and stuck fast!!

Double Bugger!!!!!

Called Renault assist and the AA turned up very quickly.

Turns out there is a small plastic ball attached to a yellow rod within the runner assembly that has shattered. This tiny plastic ball is to stop the yellow rod from catching on the ratchet mechanism when the seat is moved back.

AA guy got the seat back after some carefully placed whacks (thankfully with his hand). Saved having 353 recovered to the stealers.

Next stop, the stealers, but god only knows what they will say/do!

You called the AA for a seat runner?

Bit of an overkill?

Not really.

I'm 5'10" and I had to wind the seat fully back to get out. Tried for an hour to move the bugger back, so basically the car was undrivable even for my 5'2" wife :!:

Hence the call to Renault assist.

And now I can drive it, so I got the desired result.

Nah. I had already found half of the ball under the seat before he came out. I also told Renault assist so it will be logged.
