Dear members of cliotrophy.co.uk

I am in need of a VIN of a Clio Trophy. My rear Sachs Dampers need
replacement. The german Renault Dialogys is not able to find the
part number without a VIN.

Could somepone please sent me a VIN via p.m.?

That would be great !!

Many thanks in advance

Honestly don't think anyone will send you their vin, look on UK eBay for them or contact UK renault, really should not be that complicated

Why would you not send your VIN? What can be done if someone has access to it?

Max is a long-term member and contributor of the forum. Sure, I wouldn't send it to a random punter, but as your VIN is in full view of anyone if you park publicly then I don't see it as a major issue.

I do agree that I would maybe send it to someone like Max, but there should be no need, and why does his vin not work?

So, many thanks for your commitment over here and I understand your thoughts because of the VIN.
I contacted Mark Fish and Renault Wolverhampton. Both have a set of rear dampers in stock. As soon as
I get the quote of Mark Fish I will order a set.
I am running a full fat 182 with trophy suspension setup. As the T was not available in Germany it is always
difficult / impossible to get a price on parts without a VIN of a trophy!

But the well known addresses already provided me a solution! It is great to have this little community and
the knowledge. So I can enjoy my "T" for more miles.

I have now covered 100.000miles with mine and after the cambelt change and a service she will be ready for the next
100.000;)

Kind regards

Max

Ah i see, i thought you had a UK export in Germany

seems a bit pointless putting SACH on the back though, i dont think they are anything special compered to the front, i have Koni rear adjustable on mine atm, set them a bit harder, think they are good

Oh, ok! Are the Konis cheaper?
How do they compare to the sachs dampers? Harder?
What about the quality?

They are about £200, same as the SACH, but you could not buy them a while ago. I set my Koni a bit harder, depends what sort ride quality you want, they have been on the car 2 years, done 20k+
