Hi
I've been a proud owner of a Trophy for about a month or so now. I'm getting to the 12,000 mile service and was wondering if any of you kind folk knew of any specialists (non-renault) that would be capable of servicing the Trophy in the Devon/Exeter/Somerset region without invalidating the warranty. I feel slightly uncomfortable with handing it over to the local Renault garage as I'm sure some of you probably are too!
As an aside, its a pleasure to join you fine people in this exclusive group!

you right to feel uncomfortable - reno dealers don't know their arse from their elbow. There was someone else asking about a decent specialist in the devon area i think last week. They maybe of help - try the search function.......

Also, go to the owners register and register your trophy - title the thread with the number of the car ie 274.

wlecome to the forum - you'll find a lot of useful info on the car and no doubt discover things about it that you don't already know - I've discovered 3 gadgets that are not listed in the handbook and would never have found like.... auto locking doors, heated mirrors, aircon glove box, loads of stuff.

All part of what makes Trophy ownership so special!

Welcome Sam, register your car like Cue says and you'll get an owners star.

As for Devon specialists, George K might be able to tell you, or even do it himself! (Not sure if he has a stamp yet though).

The only specialist I have come across is Carlton Garage in Exmouth - ask for Alex Clarke. He is an enthusiast and competes in a 5Turbo (rear engined). Otherwise there is Tipton Garage at Tipton St John (Steve) near Ottery St Mary , who have a good reputation but may not qualify for warranty work. I actually used the local dealer in Honiton for the first service and they seemed to behave.

I've only good news about the dealer I use (Renault London West) so I would not say that by default the dealers are hopeless. The guy running the Minute service there is superb and an enthusiast.

Plus, a dealer will provide you with a free courtesy car if you require :) I have recently had the pleasure of a rather economical 1.5dci for a week and averaged 60mpg. Lovely.
