So I would just like to say I am the new owner of #284.

I know the car may not be of show standard but that's the reason I purchased it as I was very happy with the price and my aim is to completely restore the car to factory condition. I am not new to the renaultsport scene having owned ph2 v6 and currently own ph1 172 with 45k miles completely restored, but I am new to the trophy scene.

I have one question with regards to the dampers, is there any tell tail signs as to if they need refurbished? Any other known faults on these cars?

Hopefully get some pics of the car up over the next few days and a progress thread started.

Thanks,
Jonny

If the dampers are leaking oil then a seal is likely to have gone or a crack. You can test the dampers by opening the door and bouncing on the sill. If the dampers need doing the car will bounce. Proper working order the car will be solid.

Hi, welcome along :D

as above, give them a bounce a test, would not recommend giving them a refurb if they are ok, they have a bit of a uncertain life span
