This old nugget again.

What have been peoples quotes been like this year? Just got mine through and am pretty disappointed that it's gone up so much considering 9 years no claims, I'm an old fart, low miles, off street parking under cover in a safe area. Gone up about £50 to £388 with Greenlight.

All insurances have increased this year Jules. Sounds OK considering your raft of mods?

Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect it to go down I just didn't expect it to go up by 15% considering I have over 20 years of claim and police attention free driving under my belt.

I was just interested in how much others have gone up by not how much the quote is.

Once you get to about 4 yrs ncb it does start to make sense protecting it even though it's more expensive, imo.

I'm hoping for a premium around 600!

When I changed to the trophy from my 225f1 I was told my premium was 410, that was with 5years no claims an no claims and 3 points!

This year it will be 3 years no claims and a total loss theft claim!

Just did a go compare type thingy without declaring mods but with a lower excess, 223 pounds. So that's £165 for Mods that have arguably made the car safer and even if I crashed I would be unlikely to get reimbersed for as coverage is now "at market value"

Well actually that's it and I did say "arguably" and you could argue that none of the rest actually make it go (much) faster. :)

safer doesn't just mean braking - being able to accelerate out of trouble and better handling also = safer. It's down to the skilled use of power.

Clearly they should be paying me then  But yes I agree with that.

I've done some digging and have had some good quotes which I'll post up when I'm sorted.

Speak of the Devil. Ive just got my insurance quote through today from Greenlight, £760, I ws paying £870 last year. But apparently I now have 5 years no claims ?! I only had 3 last year, must have cocked up, better phone them and no doubt it will creep back up.

See this is what I mean, young whipper snapper like Ben and although is may be twice as much as mine, goes down and I with a longer record goes up, doesn't really make any sense.

Anyway Chris Knott matched Greenlight's £388 and knocked of 10% so it came down to £349.
Another broker called Sky quoted a pretty knockout £276 although that is with a 20% discount through RTOC, but it's more than paid for membership now. Not sure what I'll be doing yet but at least i have some numbers to beat Greenlight with.

I've just renewed mine. My renewal with Aviva came to £333. A bit disappointed since it cost £270 last year with them. Used confused.com to get some quotes. Went with Admiral for £251 with £350 excess. Result!

£650 for me last year with Privilege, gone up to a little over £720 this year with same company.

Stuck with 'em though because other quotes were coming out at over £900. 24, 6rs NCB, 5pts SP60 (due to come off in March thank god), parked on driveway WA16

Loughborough but mainly on trackdays!
I found a new company local to me who specialise in track focused premiums.
I used to be with greenlight, £387 + £50 for every trackday i wanted to do.
New company £418 including 4 trackdays included :D
So in reality i'm paying £218 for my road cover =D>

Only got £250 excess as well
