Hi guys, 1st post so go easy.

Im currently in the middle of stripping my supercharged fiesta st to fund a trophy and to pay my loan off.

If i can ask for some advise from you guys that would be great.

Mainly in terms of what i should be looking for, i.e, comman problems etc etc.

Many thanks

Hi louis you emailed me regarding my trophy which I've now decided I'm going to keep , glad I didn't sell as things happen for a reason ,

You need to look out for the following.

Dampers any leaks or knocks ?
Have the dampers been refurbed?
Aux and cambelt when have they been replaced?
Service history ?
Check for any signs of repair .. Doors , sills , bootfloor ,
check the seats fully operate and check for wear and tare ..

Best of luck

melted steering wheels
curbed alloys
I also check for Michelin tyres, it makes me feel like whoever had it before cared (or premium tyres at least)
Exhaust if you can have a nosey underneath. Originals could be at rotting stage by now

Oh, and don't let the full lock knock put you off, it's a clio 'feature' :)

cam belt replacement at about 30k ideally. If the reservoir of the shocks is sitting smack bang on the bracket that attaches to the damper casing then they need a refurb (£400), frequency of this depends on car's use (30k miles upwards). Otherwise just the usualls, they're pretty good cars in that way. Also check the healthyness of the oil, mine drinks a little and the official line is a change at 12k, but you probably know, half that is better.

i'll get one tomorrow buddy, i should've explained better, the gap should be about 5mm. As the oil level decreases the gap narrows. It's possible to check with ur finger over the top of the wheel when u know what ur feeling for.

Here you go, ignore the spring compressors, The canister sticking out of the left hand side of the damper rises up and touches the bracket above if gas has been lost.
