Owned a integrale evo 2 for around three years. The only car that i have really regretted selling. Excellent car and I will certainly buy another one at some stage. The only down side is running costs... You need at least 4-6k a year to keep one in tip top condition. However, the way the 'grale' steers, brakes, corners, goes and looks make it all worth while.

They've been poor organising this poll. I can't believe the R32 has so many votes, yes its a nice car to own and fast with a great engine however its big, heavy and the sterring is numb.

This is not a proper hot hatch list.

Hi,

voted for the tommy tomato.

Though have to agree with 'steve grale' the Lancia is the car !! though some holygrale purists would get sh1tty saying its not a 'hot hatch' :) and therefore shouldn't be on the list !!!

Owned an 8v for 10 yrs (still have it though the tin worm has been around).
Ill today, good excuse to go for a drive get some lemsips 20 miles away :D, the Trophy does have great handling in the wet.....love it.

hi folks, just voted for the trophy although the 205gti comes a close second. Just one more point where is the line between a hatch back such as the trophy, 205, 106 ect and escort cosworths, r32s ect. maybe its just me but i thought hot hatches were small 2 door front wheel drive cars with 100-200bph rather than 4 wheel drive with almost 260+bph.

Think I managed to vote for the Trophy! The list is a bit daft really though: Original mini is not even a hatch, Integra is a coupe, the turbocharged, V6, 4WD stuff should fall into a different category and some are just plain crap but will probably place higher than the Trophy as more people know them. Personally I think the top five should include Trophy (biased), 205GTi (biased again), R26R (would like to be biased), Williams and Golf mk2 GTI.
