It was £121.23 with me providing the oil. What has everyone else paid? It has only just clocked up 10,000 miles but I have decided to get it done early.

Also, how many miles have you had from the front tyres before having to replace them?

I've just hit 10k miles and been quoted £210 including elf oil from the dealer i bought the car from. Also includes pollon filter. This seems high and I am considering going to an independent specialist

The £210 inc vat and the oil was listed at £60 of the total.

Doesn't the pollen filter only need changing every 36,000 miles? I'm pretty sure it wouldn't need changing already. Bloody Stealers. I'm going to RenTech for mine because it's only a short drive and they are highly recommended.

A question for the Independent garages, Do you get a dealer stamp in the service book that says you have used offiicial Renault parts, etc.?

I would be happy to use RenTech myself, I could also use EMS right here in town, they are really good guys too. However, despite the easing of warranty servicing compliance and using OE parts, having a non-franchise stamp in the book still causes problems when selling, so (say) an extra £60 seems to be the price of not having to overcome an objection.

Essex for my sins.
I had mine serviced at BB Tuning in Essex £119 for CS Members.

The way I look at it is most of these specialts are Renault Approved anyway, and since the change in the law, that states you dont need to go to the dealer to have serivcing done, to still have warrenty work done to the car, i am fine with not having a dealer stamp.

The likely hood is that when I come to sell the car, it will be sold to someone who knows about the car, and the specialist in the market place, so seeing a BB stamp on the book, will indeed look better than having a dealership, as you can be sure that the work has been done to a better standard.

That goes for GDI and Rentech as well. People need to be better educated about servicing, and the cost involved, otherwise you get charge 210 for exactlly the same as you would get for less else where.

At the end of the day its what you feel most comfortable with.

An interesting article that could be covered on TopGear (x million viewers and ad infinitum) A message that needs repeating over and over again in all media to prevent the 'We're going to think about it and get back to you' scenario from the many 'non enthusiasts' who buy these cars. I suppose it's a case of one car with dealer history against one with franchise history (difference on a 20000 mile 2 year old car = £60) which would be the one the man in the street buy? Not so much Clio Trophy but Evo 8 with servicing every 4500 miles, the savng would be more apparent to the owner over time. It's not so much what franchise dealers charge for servicing it's their entire ability to make profit in a fair way from all departments that should be called into question. Main dealers are for sale and dropping like flies of late.

RS Tuning in leeds quoted me sub £120 inc VAT if i provide the oil. They seem to be about the only specialist near Yorkshire.

What about down in Kent. I've seen someone mention R Sport(?) in Wimbledon, which is a little out of the way, but do-able. Whitehouse Renault in Tunbridge Wells want £250, but that does include a full diagnostic check!?!?!?

Ren-Tech would be about 1h 45 away, slightly longer than R Sport but only heard good things about them

I could drop the car off and go to work in London with R Sport(?).....

I suppose I could take a day off, get new tyres done and head to Ren-Tech for a service and tracking/alignment!

How much would it cost to get the pads changed? I've no issue doing it myself, but if it's on a lift with the wheels off....
