A mate has asked me to do a cam belt and a clutch on his 182. Rather than do a clutch, and then a cam belt separately, I thought it would be easier to take the complete engine and gearbox out. I have good workshop facilities with a wheel free hoist and a block and tackle, so no problems there.

Is it best to lift the engine and box out, or can I drop it out underneath using the hoist?

Also, do I have to have the air con evacuated or can I get away without it?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

lol.

Whilst i dont generally put cars back together, i know that when breaking clio's, we normally drop the subframe to get the box out, then lift the engine out using a bit metal pole & a seatbelt... using an engine crane makes things considerably easier!!!
