ECU unit bracket snapped...

this exact problem happened on my MK1 172....the bracket that holds the right side of the ECU unit has snapped where it meets the bolt intended to hold it in place...
for a temp fix i loosened the M10 bolt and nipped the bracet with the washer...has this happened to anyone else...a ECU unit shaking about cant be a good thing..
see photo...its right next the top of the right strut...

Yep, common problem unfortunately. Same happened to me.

I should get it fixed under warranty really i suppose, i've just taped it up at the moment.

Mine did it as well, thought it happened while my car was being repaired, maybe it didn't.



Also scratched one of my alloys today slightly, and just noticed a stone chip on the bonnet. I'm so pissed off. At least they aren't that noticable.


Is £65 a good price for a wheel refurb?

I recently kerbed one of my alloys and grazed the very edge of the rim. The damage only went about 1/4 of the circumference but was quite deep.

I got it repaired by ChipsAway for £52.88 inc vat. I think simple scratches are cheaper.

The guy did a superb job, you can't see where the damage was.
