Tim mention something of interest the other day just wondering if i could highlight this fact to others.
so apparently you can measure the damper height to find out how shagged they are?
anyone shed some more light?

The gap marked in the photo will get smaller as gas leaks from the damper. 5mm is normal, if it's touching (as in the metal arm holding the external reservoir is touching the casing of the reservoir) then this means your shock is out of gas and needs to pay a trip to BG for a service. If you have no oil, then you will visibly see this covering the outside of the damper.

Hopefully this helps, and hope this is true. I'm sure someone will be on here soon to correct if I'm wrong but I think this is correct. :)
