Carbon bonnet = lighter wallet. If its weight saving you're after go to the bog before you go for a drive!

Cheers guys.

That's actually a fairly good weight saving. I've got a small dent on my bonnet so it will cost £50-75 to get a dent repair man to fix it.

Thought I might as well put it towards a carbon bonnet.

Would definitely wanted it painted red, as the Trophy is such a small car, a black/carbon fibre bonnet really overpowers the car style/colour wise.

I've had both a K-Tec carbon fibre bonnet and had my own kevlar carbon bonnet made.

I think it looks good and whilst it does save 6kg ish its not a cheap mod but I also have a kevlar carbon hatch and perspex rear screen and some lightweight doors which may eventually be fitted.

Pics are shown below:

That looks good there Matt, have you got any more details and photos of the tailgate and photos of the rear window.

Did you remove your exhaust hangers to save weight. :) The exhaust is hanging a bit low on the first pic.

The carbon bonnet looks nice on the Trophy, it matches the wheels. 8)

I knew someone was gonna notice that, the exhaust was cut when removed and has twisted as they all do but I've got a Janspeed one on there again now.

Tailgate looks like a good OE fit, does it save much weight?

Tailgate and perspex rear screen weigh about 6kg which is much less than the standard one plus you lose the weight of the struts and rear wiper too at a rough guess it must be a 10kg or more saving.

TBH its probably a lot more as the standard struts tried to launch it to the moon as it was so much lighter.

I also have a pair of lightweight doors which weigh 6kg each which I will eventually fit.

Ive just had my bonnet damaged by some kids

There is a big dent at the front, looks like they have sat on it. Ive been speaking to a dent removal guy and he said he should be able to get it out but a few marks may be left and it will never look perfect like it was before hand, this is simple because of where it is and access under the bonnet is limited.

Anyways, being the perfectionist that I am ive been thinking of maybe getting a carbon bonnet. Pic of dent to follow in the morning...

VERY VERY MAD !!!! :x
