What are the best pads to use for track days plus a little bit of road use?
Or are the standard ones the best bet?
I guess this topic has probably come up before but I cannt find anything on the subject...

Hi, welcome to the forum :D

If you want the best braking performance and fade resistance for track use then the Performance Friction PF'97 pads as used in the Clio Cup are what you want.

I've run a couple of sets of them now and they give excellent stopping power, and are VERY hard to get fade on track. They work fine as a road pad too, no problems with cold performance, but obviously the do work better when they have some heat in them.

Only downsides are super agressive brake dust that will stick to your wheels even if properly waxed, and can occasionally squeal when being used lightly on the road (although i never got this from my second set). They also eat discs, but he discs are cheap compared to the pads and the pads last ages.

If you want a slightly less aggressive, more fast road pad then the Ferrodo DS2500's are highly recommended by people, not tried them yet, but might be about to give them a go.
