Well today i put on my front sachs dampers to the clio and we had some issues with the AST top mounts.

When taking them off the 3 small screws which are mild steel decided to snap as they where all rusted under the bottom and would not come out.

Was told by the garage today that these need to be well greased up and possibly changed every year to stop the alloy and mild steel getting corroded.

Every 6 months especially over the winter i will be unscrewing these and making sure they are covered in lube.

Screw Fix sell these in a bag of 50 for £3.77 and are M5 x 20mm

Unfortunately steel into alloy will nearly always corrode and seize in then shear off when you go to undo it.

Well the bearings needed changed in the AST top mounts and i found a supplier that sells AST items and they where cheaper and have arrived within 3 working days and sent out to myself.

That was 4 years the bearings lasted which i think is not too bad.

Also bought 24 titanium bolts so swap these over every 6 months or so.
