After recently making two further car acquisitions, with another one in the pipeline, I have run out of space in my storage facilities and so I am having sell a number of cars out of my collection. This being one of them.

This car went through the Collecting Cars website earlier in the year (https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2005-renaultsport-clio-182-trophy-9) and it was collected and delivered straight into storage. Since then I have not had the time to do anything to the car (not that it needs anything) so the car is as it was at the end of the auction.

As some of you may know, I am a car collector, and a Renault enthusiast with particularly high standards, so I only buy the best examples I can find at the time and this is certainly one of them.

I thought I would advertise the car here before anywhere else, as I am not looking to profit from the car and so I would ideally like it to go to a genuine buyer/enthusiast. With fees, I paid just over £14k for the car but I am advertising/selling it on here for a firm £13,250 with no offers. I am hoping for a quick and painless sale, but if it doesn't sell from here then I will advertise in on the usual channels for a higher price.

The values of these cars are only going one way and I firmly believe that good examples like this will be worth £20k+in a few years.

For ease - the advert is taken from the listing on Collecting Cars. The car has resided in England for all of its life, but is currently dry stored in secure storage in Scotland located between Aberdeen & Inverness.

I also have the ability to deliver the car nationwide utilising my own covered Brian James Race Transporter 6 Trailer for an additional cost. Happy to match a quote from an insured, reputable, covered car transport provider if needed.

KEY FACTS
  • A fantastic example of the celebrated limited-edition hot hatch, presented in excellent, unmodified condition.
  • It is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated inline-four, which produces 182hp and drives the front wheels via a short-ratio five-speed manual transmission.
  • In total, only 500 examples of the Clio 182 Trophy were produced for the UK market, with this example being marked as number 218 of that limited run.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
  • The pinnacle of the Renaultsport Clio 182 range, the Trophy model is equipped with sophisticated Sachs front dampers, heavily-bolstered Recaro front seats, lightweight 16-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler, with each example being finished in the eye-catching hue of Capsicum Red.
  • While it is almost entirely standard and unmodified, this example’s performance and soundtrack have been enhanced with the addition of an RS192 Scorpion cat-back exhaust system.
  • The car will be accompanied by its original handbooks and service book, as well as its factory tool kit, one key and every MOT test certificate from new.
CONDITION
  • No bodywork damage.
  • The Capsicum Red paintwork is thought to be entirely original and is in good overall condition, with a few small stone chips and blemishes on the front bumper and bonnet, in line with the car’s age and mileage.
  • The alloy wheels are also very smart, having been refurbished in 2017.
  • The interior is in great shape, with some light scratches on the centre of the steering wheel and the sides of the centre console.
  • There are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle.
  • The last MOT test was conducted on 23 April 2021 at 67,119 miles, resulting in a clean, first-time pass.
SERVICE HISTORY
  • This Clio 182’s most recent routine maintenance was an oil and filter service, which was carried out in May 2019 at 65,460 miles by performance Renault specialist K-Tec Racing.
  • Prior to this, Theoco Renault performed an oil and filter service in August 2017 at 61,960 miles, and Renault Watford carried out a major service including replacement of the cambelt and auxiliary belt in July 2015 at 52,973.
  • Furthermore, Renault Watford replaced the front coil springs in August 2015 at 56,757 miles, and the Sachs suspension dampers were replaced by Renault West at a cost of more than £1,040 in April 2012.
  • During the seller’s two years of ownership they have also had all four wheels fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres.
