Guys,

It is with a very heavy heart that I have decided to advertise my Clio for sale, due to a change in personal circumstances.

I bought the car back in April completely standard, and have a project thread on here (and ClioSport.net) documenting all the modifications and servicing that has been carried out, which is very comprehensive. Please take a read if you are interested in purchasing this car.

Build thread.... http://www.cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/s...ers-OEM-BG-Trophy-Project?p=393416#post393416

I have a folder with every receipt/printout for all the parts and work carried out under my ownership. I also have a spreadsheet which lists every part bought under my ownership, the exact price of said parts, and the date they were purchased. The spreadsheet also lists all servicing or work that has been carried out under my ownership, who carried out the work, and at what mileage this was done. I will of course print the spreadsheet and put this at the front of the folder. Staggeringly, the total spent on parts during my ownership (per the spreadsheet) is just shy of £7k (!!!), and this does not include any of the labour costs from Rentech/K-Tec/NAD UK etc (the companies who fitted most parts per the service log below).

So, the basics to begin with:

RenaultSport Clio 182
2005 (05) Reg
65,500 miles (will continue to rise very slightly)
MOT: 12 February 2016
Tax: None under new rules
Colour: Black Gold

It is a Full Fat model from factory (both Cup packs), but has been fitted with all the Trophy parts during my ownership, so in effect it is the highest spec Clio 182 you could have:

Auto-Xenons
Climate Control
Auto Wipers
Cruise Control
Trophy Sachs
Trophy Recaro’s
Trophy/V6 Spoiler
Cup Turini’s

As mentioned above, this car was purchased in April 2015 and was completely standard.

Cosmetically, the car is in very good condition. One very small dent which can be seen in the rear quarter behind the off side door, but you have to be looking hard. Have tried to show this in photos below, but it is that small you just can't see it. Couple of small scratch marks just below the window on the off side door, have taken pictures of this, can just about see in the photos (not down to the metal or anything). Also the front splitter has a crack in the middle of it, was like this when I bought the car. I was planning on either buying a new genuine one (very expensive) or a carbon one if I was keeping the car. These are pretty much the only bad parts of the bodywork.

Interior is pretty much immaculate. The Recaro seats have a small amount of wear as to be expected with seats that have been sat in for 10 years, but there are no tears/rips/fag burns or anything, they are in very good condition still, please see pictures. The seatbelts could perhaps do with a clean (being silver), but other than this, the interior is absolutely mint.

I am very OCD, so the car is cleaned regularly with quality detailing products (always snow foamed before a wash as well). One thing I would mention is that the car would benefit from a professional detail to remove swirl marks from bad washing techniques by previous owners. I planned on paying to have this done if I was keeping the car, but the paintwork still does look very respectable indeed (mainly my OCD), and there are no deep scratches where the car has been keyed or anything like that.

This car has wanted for nothing during my ownership, and has been maintained and serviced meticulously, regardless of cost. Mechanically, it is pretty much a brand new car, with almost every serviceable item being replaced for either genuine OEM parts, or aftermarket upgrade parts, within the last 6 months, particularly with regards to the suspension and brakes. As for the engine, it has had two oil changes within the last 6 months (last one just recently in September with very expensive Motul 300V oil) and also within the last 6 months, has had every kind of fluid flushed and replaced (coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, gearbox oil, two engine oil changes).

Oil has been changed every 6,000 miles, and has religiously been run on Shell V Power only. Engine runs like a dream, does not smoke or use any oil, no leaks anywhere, no misfires or hesitation anywhere, and pulls strongly throughout the rev range. Gearbox does not make any untoward noises, does not crunch at all, and all gears can be selected perfectly. Has never been on track, had planned on doing a couple of track days next year as it is made for that given the spec of the car.

On the last MOT, the only advisory was the rear discs and pads getting near the limit. These have been replaced recently (as listed above) and what with all the rest of the work carried out, it would be virtually impossible for the car to fail the next MOT on anything.

As for the electrics, absolutely everything works as it should, and the air conditioning is nice and cold, having been re-gassed by Mike at Rentech in June 2015.

The original tool kit is in the back, there are two cans of tyre foam which are unused from factory, and both keys are also present.

With regards to the Cambelt work I mentioned above, when I bought the car in April 2015 (from a dealer), I paid a bit extra to have the Cambelt kit and Dephaser Pulley replaced for peace of mind. In September, I took the car into Mike at Rentech to have a brand new genuine PAS pump and genuine accessory belt kit fitted, and asked him to have a quick look at the Cambelt and Dephaser to check it was in good order (wanted to be sure it had been changed when I bought the car). He confirmed that the Cambelt and the rest of the kit had been changed, but it did not look as though the Dephaser had been changed. So, I have recently been on the phone to the dealer explaining the situation, and they said they would dig out the invoice for the work and double check, but they were pretty certain the Dephaser was changed. I got a call yesterday, and sure enough they confirmed that the Dephaser actually had not been fitted, only the Cambelt kit (at least they confessed). They offered to purchase a Dephaser and fit it for me if I took the car back to them, but seeing as I do not want them to fit the Dephaser, they agreed to pay for a brand new Dephaser Pulley and send this to me, so I can get it fitted myself. Therefore, I have a brand new Dephaser to come with the car which will just need fitting (don’t have time to book this in). Once you get this fitted, it would mean the following has been replaced at the following times:

Full Cambelt kit – April 2015
Accessory belt kit – September 2015
Dephaser Pulley – When you get it fitted

I have a few spare parts which will come with the car, as follows:

Full Cup suspension (front shocks, rear shocks, springs, top mounts) – kept this so I could re-fit it all if the Sachs ever needed refurbishing again at some point in the future

Various interior trim parts (handbrake gaiter, wing mirror covers, door pillars, dash trims)

5L of genuine Renault coolant

1L of brand new unopened Fuchs Titan gearbox oil

1L of brand new unopened Red Line power steering fluid

1L of brand new unopened ATE Super Gold brake fluid

Brand new Dephaser Pulley which just needs fitting (as mentioned above)

Few other random spares (original aerial, bulbs etc)

All in all, this is a very well sorted and capable car, which has been highly maintained and very well looked after. Receives looks and comments wherever it goes, and even had a few Trophy owners comment how they prefer it over the red (probably joking of course!).

It would cost you a hell of a lot more than what I am asking for, if you were to buy another 182 in as good condition with similar miles, and put all the brand new parts on (almost everything genuine Renault) like I have done. Car is faultless and runs like a dream, and drives beautifully.

I have decided for personal reasons to go without a car for a while (live 10 mins from work) and save as much as possible to put towards a house deposit. This unfortunately means me parting with this beautiful car.

Very sad to let this car go, it is the perfect spec and exactly the car and spec I have wanted for a long time (a Black Gold Trophy).

Asking price is £6,250 for the car as it is, with all spare parts included too.

I know this seems like a high price, but I doubt there are many better driving 182’s out there, and I have already mentioned at the top that this build has cost me in excess of £7k in parts (not including purchase price of the car or any labour charges for fitting of parts). Whilst I don’t expect to get all my money back, this is still a massive saving over what it would cost to get a 182 to a similar spec yourself. Will happily keep the car otherwise.

Thanks for looking. No doubt I have probably missed something, so if you would like to ask any questions, feel free to PM me and I will either reply or can give you my mobile number so we can have a chat about it.

Also, if anybody would like to have a look through the spreadsheet I have mentioned at the top, which lists every part/service etc during my ownership, then I would be more than happy to send a copy through (Excel Spreadsheet), just PM me.

Has literally broken my heart writing this up.

Car is located in Fareham (Portsmouth).

Thanks for all the comments.

Sad to say this, but the car is sold subject to being picked up tomorrow morning.

The end of a very enjoyable 6 months, will be very sad to see this go, and think I will come to regret it.

Thanks for the interest in the car.
