It's that time - have just passed 12k miles and it's due a service. Have booked it in with Masters of Shirley near Croydon - they reckon about 150 notes. Although I live in Brighton I'm going there because a) they're really nice people and b) I took 425 to the local Brighton dealer to get some oil during running in. They asked me what kind of Clio it was; I said a Trophy; they then asked 'is that a 172 or 182?' Duh; and then they gave me the cooking Clio oil; I pointed out their error and then they asked ME what kind of oil it needed!!! Jeez!!! So I reckon if you live near Brighton you shouldn't get your Trophy (or any Renault for that matter) serviced at the Brighton dealership (Hollingbury) - god knows what they'll put in the engine if you're not around to supervise them (vegetable oil, vaseline...). Anyway will let y'all know how it goes... Happy driving!!!!

Cheers Day but...

Need more words... google 'rentech' says where I can find the 'world's leading developers of Fischer-Tropsch coal-to-liquids and gas-to-liquids technologies'...

I live 5 mins from Masters and I will be going to Rentech.

The one and only time I took my car back to Masters they scuffed an alloy.

Never again!

Oh. Well, no problems here; cost £200. And they did put the right oil in...

AND they had a 197 round the back - it was blue - not it's best colour I reckon but that diffuser looks the cojones.

And Mike - I think you need to index your website - it doesn't show on google even if you type in 'rentech renault uk', only other websites that mention yours...; but I'll bear you in mind in future...

Have booked mine in to Rentech on July 14th having phoned Tates renault in Brighton for a price and being told that a) it didn't need servicing for 2 years or 18K miles, b) that it would cost £250 and c) that they recommended not going for 5W 40 oil as it didn't really need it.

Having said that, when I took it their to get my rattly seat fixed, they did the job and left the car well alone (i.e no extra 30 miles on the clock for a road test etc)

Just for the record the guys at Ren-Tech quoted £130-140 and are very accomodating.

I'll let you know how the service goes after the 14th.

Fucking Monkeys. My favourite one was the Salesman asking the 182 Cup owner if he's been driving the car hard, the owner replied "of course, that's what it's designed for..." to which the Salesman replied "It's not a sports car sir." Standing in front of a 6 foot by 18 foot Renaultsport banner!

I will be doing my own oil change next week (6000 miles) and it will definitely be going to Rentech for the Annual Service (12K). 40 minute drive, nothing but good reports, bit of a no-brainer.

My Trophy has done approx 9500 miles with no oil change. Travel has mostly been in slow traffic in London. Am I right in saying I should get it serviced now. Renault want over £100 for an oil change.

Has anyone used BB Performance Tuning. I would appreciate reccomendations. It looks like with them I can have a complete service for an extra £50 or so over the renault price for an oil change.

Comments would be appreciated. :)

Renault do say in the service booklet that if you do at least 50% of journeys at an average speed of less than 18 mph, then you should change your oil and filter every 6,000 miles. It's never going to harm your engine getting your oil changed so it will probably be worth getting it done.

ducks butt got his service done at BB tuning and had only positive things to say - http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... c&start=15

Just a heads up...

Spoke to Mike @ Rentech today.

Due to high demand, Mike is currently booked up for at least 2 weeks in advance.

Day.
