I was under the impression that there was only one 06 plate Trophy in the country and that was number 500/500 which was held back to 1st March and given away in a prize draw (Autocar mag i believe)

I have just been informed that this is not the only 06 plater around - just wondering if anyone knows anything about this and whether or not there might be more 06 platers out there?

Thanks in advance

Are you after an '06 plate bc seventy six?

Is your car on 06 plate Steve? I just wasnt aware till yesterday that there was more than one 06 plate car out there, are there any registered on here?

I would take an 05/55/06 plate car - i think the price, condition, and mileage would be more important factors for me to consider first. Though in saying that i like the fact it would be quite rare having an 06 plate Trophy - the car would only be around 6 months old! Also warranty till 2009 sounds good and i also would imagine being alow mileage 06 plate would help when it came to selling the car.

Cheers

I thought warranty went on build date, so you may find warranty may not stretch to 2009. :!:

It's a lot of dough, but then it's very low miles & one of the last.

I got my 05, Aug had only done 4800 miles, just test drove it & bought it.
If you wait round too long they will be gone, thats what i found

with 'specialist cars' (not your normal stuff) you find that come sale time, mileage doesn't mean jot. It's all about condition and service history.

as one genius once told me (911 virgin) you dont buy planes on how many miles they've done, come to think of it you don't buy any form of machinery on usage. you buy it on condition and treatment.

Mileage is just a way of dealers to haggle you down, means bollox all.

even if number 2 had been thrashed and number 1 was all motorway miles, hardly ever taken above 4k revs?

Using that analogy, what's the difference between a 120,000 and a 140,000 miler? if the one that had 140,000 on it been serviced every 6 months and only had 2 set's of tyres in its life - full history and receipts for all parts, would you still go with the lower milage one that doesn't have any service history?

you've been conditiond to think that service history is everything, it is critical yes but the reason for it being so is that it gives you an indication of how the car has been treated, and how the internals have been looked after. nothing else can provide this info. That is the most important part of buying a car. That is if you don't want any suprises as your driving away.

How many older ferrari's - 288, 306, F40's etc have there price masively altered by milage?

I bought my car because it was a late registered, very low mileage example (1900 miles), was permagarded, in immaculate condition throughout and 298 was my lucky number.

Not at all because it was the one Steve happened to have in stock.

a professional car buyer, steve maybe, would shed some light on this. When they get the glass's guide out you know they're having a laugh.

Especially when there is no mention of 182 trophy in the black book

These 182's, compared to fords vw etc are really quite rare.

When i dedided to buy a Trophy, i spoke to my local renault guys, who told me just get a straight one, as we will replace anything that is faulty under warranty.

Not all renault service centres are crap :D

Just leics & notts.

There's quite a few cars that don't book, but appear on the CD versions of the guides. The Trophy doesn't book as it's too specialised. But like anything nowadays you have to research Autotrader and pick your way through the EBAY scam ads to evaluate a likely retail price, just work backwards to a trade value.

Main dealers px / cashflow restrictions and disgruntled 182 owners have destabilised what was a good stable retail market for the (non Trophy) 182 models.

Talking about aircraft hours. I have a nice, very well maintained turbo charged plane for sale if anyone wants one? I finally lose the alltrophys nick!
