I swapped my Trophy for a 197 cup a month ago now....I miss the Trophy as it is a great car...but the 197 cup is equally as good, yet a completely different feel. 197 definately feels faster and more refined, handling is fantastic and the gear box is truly satisfying.....still miss the ride and...

Trophy is a very good car and I will miss mine....it was time to change or keep forever...the Trophy is a proper track car with a satisfyingly harsh ride amd mega handling....the cup is more refined, more comfortable and practical...I've had it for a week now so still running in, but I've had it...

I was in my Trophy.......last drive :( Off to S J Cook to pick up 197 Cup

.....just going west bound under the railway bridge approching Filton Avenue. I was heading East to swap the Tropy for my 197 Cup........

thought as much....bit of a job to do before swapping to the Cup then :D !

I know it's anal....but I hate feeble single tone horns......two tones are best for getting slower movers off those twisties and out of my way! :twisted:

Hi...anyone out there got a 197/R27/197Cup yet. I was just wonering if they are fitted with a two-tone horn or just the feeble single tone fitted to the Trophy. I have a decent high pitched two-tone on my Trophy at the mo! My 197 cup is due next week so I want to know if i need to take the horns...

You are correct...Red Callipers included......add some recaro's and some RS Stickers from the accessories selection and you could have an unofficial R27!

I wish I could afford to keep #294 as well as buying a 197 Cup....but the px offer is too good to refuse (effectively £9150) and the Trophy is close to the end of warranty. There's no doubt about it, the Trophy is an awsome car and I doubt even the 197 Cup will quite match its appeal :( , but...

...oh! Red calipers included, so no need to take the wheels off.....I may regret not having Aircon.....but I've got £1000 left over to take it accross the Alps! :twisted:

You can order a standard 197 with the cup chasis as a £400 option....I think you can also have one in white with black wheels, although the brake calipers won't be in red as this is signiture to the Cup (as well as the Cup badge).....but you don't need toys to play with when you are taking...

Drove the cup again today, just to make sure....I had a grin on my face :twisted: Gear box is superb, breaks are exellent....steering a little light at low speeds, but tightens up in the fast bends.....I don't think I'll be dissapointed with the swap. The cup is a more refined ride though, even...

I can't bring myself to trust anyone else to wash my Trophy....but there is a hand car wash at ASDA in Cribbs (off M5 J17) and there is a good hand wash at Thornbury Tesco...these guys seem quite thorough......don't recal seeing any in the city centre area

Yep...that was me. I'm based up in Thorbury (#294...I think?).....your on an 06 plate, I assume you've got one of the last one's.....have you had it from new.... My partner not only roled her eyes...she called them common..... Was good to see you out there!

Cars not to chase in this wheather are Scoobs (STI), Evo VII and above, any porsche......we should be able to show a clean pair of heals to Civic type R's and a couple of days ago I out gunned an Astra VXR.....even on a slimy surface :twisted: Still, I need to put it away, before I loose the car...

I'm ready to change my breaks soon (still on the originals at 30K, but I do use them as little as possible!)......so much out there to choose from. What's the best for normalish (fast and twisty) road use that will give better breaking than original breaks, without high maintenance and frequent...

My fronts are coming towards the end of their tread...loosing grip at the front end guaranteed off the lights just about everywhere at the mo'...especially at 3500 RPM.....traction control working quite hard......bring on the summer. Might put it away until March and use my J reg Micra!

They're all getting towards 3 years old and the end of the Ren Warranty!
