    top mounts and bearings

I was able to use the old nut with a new top mount without any issues. I'll try and get some photos in the next day or two for reference in this thread.

    Bonnet release broken

I think you need to get under the bonnet to take the bumper off... There are two plastic push clips on the black plastic that has the safety labels on. Which part has broken exactly? Inside the car?

    Sachs Damper Protection

@Patrick Bateman the smaller end of the gaiter is secured on the rib of the bump stop/spring aid as a press fit. I.e. the top of the damper module. The bottom larger end is free floating and does not appear (on mine at least) to attach to the damper at all. We'd call these a dust tube rather...

    Alarm

How old is the battery? Halfords do a free health check, it confirmed mine needed replacing. Their check is more than just the charging voltage too.

    top mounts and bearings

I would stretch to the OEM parts. I posted this elsewhere, but Febi Bilstein ARB rubber bushes on #167 had cracked extensively (and very brittle) due to UV damage after fewer than 5,000 miles. I shower them to a Technical Specialist at work (he literally has a doctorate in rubber!) as well as...

Whilst it was working - how does the PMS shifter compare with the standard?

Gearshift all fitted well now I take it? 😉

    Splitter Talk.

Has anyone fitted theirs yet? I notice that the x4 cutouts in the centre aren't actually cut out... so some fettling required.

Stunning! One for the 2025 calendar methinks

    Clio 182 Upper grill

Thanks! Are the car info/warning stickers available from Renault? Or is it just the reproductions from eBay?

    Fixings fun!

Great photo, thanks! I have the pukka Renault parts on their way (from France) as they're cheaper than an assortment. I think the speed/clip/spire nut should hold, the clamp load is likely to be enough (crosses fingers). I shall update this thread when I do it! Cheers

    Front wheel arch trim

I ordered and picked up my front left wheelarch liner from my local Renault dealer this week! No need to order from France (at least, not yet!) I'll need to go over the flash lines with a stanley knife, but other than that, all looks good!

    Fixings fun!

No problem at all! Thanks very much for taking a look. I think I'll get the fixings anyway (I've discovered Partsouq), I reckon the clip/nut once fitted will work just fine, as it should clamp up. The diagram seems to suggest (although it's not clear) that it is indeed a v shaped slot. James

    Fixings fun!

Evening all, I've removed my front bumper, and it came off a little too easily... and I think I diagnosed a bumper to wing misalignment due to the same missing fixings. No sign of 10mm bolt here (or on the offside wing): Nor is there a spring clip on this part of the wing - it looks like...

    Sachs Damper Protection

Yep absolutely @hoolio ! I think I referenced your use as a gaiter only in the first paragraph but I appreciate this wasn't made clearly by myself 😊 Mine is split (held on with a cable tie!). Wine does sound good.... @photo_ed many thanks! Hopefully it made some sense.

    Sachs Damper Protection

I can't directly, as I haven't tried it. If you're using them purely as a gaiter/dust tube then they're probably OK. But... I can lend some insight into development of 'bump stops' from some work a few years ago. The primary function is load management into the body (in parallel to the spring)...

    Front wheel arch trim

I'm sure this wasn't on their site last year! Have Renault/their suppliers made some more do we think?

Jon Foz Lowered Seat Mount Kit - £250

Is there anyone with a Trophy in the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire area with Foz frames I could try? I'm very curious about these... 🤔

I too, have taken the plunge.... Let's see when it and a few extra goodies turn up! Exciting.

    Best Roads In Wales

I cycled up the hill along that reservoir - wish I had something other than leg power! I did think at the time it would be a fantastic road to drive on.

GR Yaris - Rush Magazine long term review.

Great read! And on roads I know well. The road from Bentham to the A65 has been resurfaced, a lovely mix of long corners and elevation. I'm curious about the F4R engined red Clio mentioned.... Here's my red rocket in the same place (a bit fisheye...)

    Winter MPG?

Morning all! Hope you're having a nice Saturday morning :coffee: I'm curious - what winter MPG are you getting? For reference, I'm around the 28 MPG mark. Cold starts and rich fuelling contributes to the lower value vs. summer I think!

Inner anti roll bar bush size

Posted elsewhere, but whoever reads this - please don't use Febi Bilstein parts: https://cliotrophy.co.uk/threads/please-just-go-oem-trophy-breakdown.55878/post-426047

Please, just go OEM.... Trophy breakdown

Evening all, some more incredibly disappointing engineering from Febi Bilstein to share, with the same message to add as the subject of this thread. Recent work on #167 included replacing the inner and outer roll bar bushes, including outer clamps. Why did I do this? As you can see from the...

    LSD on Clio 182

Thanks Ed and Andy for your input. Chatting to Mick at Diamond Motors, we've decided to park the LSD mod for now. Mainly because the work he's doing has already had significant scope creep (more on that on #167's thread soon), so future spends will be prioritised elsewhere - starting with new...
