A Trophy as a trackday toy & DD?

Thanks for the useful replies guys, I'll look around for a nice Cup and use the extra cash to modify it. Btw, as I read the seating in Clio's is quite high, does that pose a problem for tall people to fit with a helmet? I'm 193cm which should equal 6'7'' if I'm not mistaken.

A Trophy as a trackday toy & DD?

Hi all, Last year I was looking for a Trophy as a trackday-toy, in the end I went for a modified VX220, now though the Clio-itch is back. I've always been drawn towards the Trophy, rather than the Cup, but is it worth the premium if the car is to be used as a trackday-toy/daily driver? Is a...

They are a lot more expensive on mainland Europe, and I was looking for a heavily modified example, and the UK is the best market for such cars.. ;)

Actually LHD's are a lot more expensive, you'll easily pay £7.000 for a Clio 172 ph.1, I might consider a RHD 172 Cup, as I'm told they're that little purer and lighter, and no ABS quite appeals to me, on the plus side, I've got some spare cash for some extra mods. Would you say a 172 Cup with...

    KTR SOLID SUSPENSION TOP MOUNTS

That looks loud  Actually I have the impression the BTB exhaust is more of a quality thing... Anyone on this board happen to have one?

A quick update, my E30 has now been sold, in a month or so I should be ready make the jump. I've now (more or less) narrowed my choices down to two cars, a Trophy (or a more heavily modified Cup) or a Porsche 968 CS or Sport. (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/968797.htm). Purely based on...

    KTR SOLID SUSPENSION TOP MOUNTS

Thanks, at least that's not too far away from Belgium ;) Well primarily, I'd want to have the solid top mounts, maybe the stiffer springs (I want to read some reviews on this), and I'd want front and rear strutbrace (don't know if these are really useful but I like the look of it and it...

    KTR SOLID SUSPENSION TOP MOUNTS

Where is Mark Fish located in the UK? Chances are I'm picking up a Trophy in the UK (I'm from Belgium) by the end of june and depending on how modified it is, I'd like to buy some goodies for it (smaller steering wheel, strut braces, STM, ...), I'll have to plan the trip in a way I can buy the...

That's what I thought, I was hoping you guys would convince me I was wrong  It's gonna be a tough choice... What appeals to me is the Trophy is standard just as I'd like it, good suspension, good tyres, bucket seats, ... If I'm buying another RWD sub £8k I know I'd need to spend...

That's actually of great help, I was seriously considering upgrading to a E36 328i and fit it with decent suspension, LSD, ... I'm curious to see we share the same view! I'm only looking to buy around june/july and I suspect I'll try and find my Trophy on this board as it gives an added sense of...

Didn't know about the one in Zolder! I'll definately pass by then! Thanks... Would you say the driving position still annoys you after some time? I must say I'm easily annoyed by little things (seatbelt warnings, automatic wipers, diesels, "rubbery" gearshift ... ) Do you know the...

But you could fit with a helmet? I've thought about the Swiss-option but as Switzerland is no part of the EU it's a real hassle to import them in the EU, and it'll cost me 21% + 10% extra on taxes alone. That makes a Swiss trophy more than double the price of a British one, I'd rather sit on...

Hi everyone, I'm a 23yr old Belgian guy, I've always adored the Trophy since I first read about it in Evo. Some things kept me from buying though, as a student my budget is quite limited (low GBP came to the rescue), the fact that it'll be RHD (prepared to live with that) but most of all... I'm...
