Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the problems I'm having with my T atm
Filled up full yesterday and drove 110 miles motorway no stopping and a constant 56mph the whole way and some how managed to get through half a tank ! Also it feels to be lacking power and engine starts to shake very lightly around 2500rpm to 3000 rpm then goes.

Its just not right ... i should have only uses 1/4 of a tank if that,
Only fill with shell V-Power

Cheers

is the gauge reading correctly?
did you fill it back up to see if it really had used the half tank?

If its shaking on accelation its sounds like a misfire to me. What does it do after 3.5k? Could just as likely be a fueling problem. Does it give ypu any warning lights?

the shaking is minor ... only notice it when parked and slowly increasing the revs in neutral. The shaking starts at around 2500 - 2600 and disappears around 2800 - 3000. I have not taken past 3.5K parked so not sure. There are no warning lights present.

What is the MPG reading? If it is as low as something like 26 MPG then your lambda could be borked. Would explain the high consumption.

Get it on some diagnostic equipment or you will be wasting money fitting bits you don't need, this will also give you a starting point.

I checked the MPG and was getting in the 40's but usually on this drive i do i normal get into/near the 50's so it was a little lower than normal. Also Carbon Chaos I dont think diagnostic equipment would show anything as no lights are present on my dash.
I did forget to mention my acoustic valve is broken so has been removed at the moment and the vacum hose plugged but its been like this for a while

Diagnostic scanner IS the way forward it may not have a 'light' on but that does not mean a sensor has not got a fault.

BTW i think your not driving it hard enough may be its coked up  ive had mine from new and never seen 50mpg have you thought about a diesel.;):p

Don't really have the money atm to drive it hard aha, also I dont want it to end up like my other one (No. 180) pic is on the register

I will go garage tomorrow and get checked
Also can any one reading this with a 182 do a favour for me ... next time you are in your car, park up and have it in neutral and then move around the 2500 - 3000 rev range and see if the engine vibrates a little,, the garage i went to said this is normal for the 182's as the cams are changing over at this rev band but I don't think thats true and possible my problem

The only time i had 50mph was when I hit the reset whilst slowing down, even with my most conservative driving it's about 38 and i expect to get about 360 to the tank.

driving much to fast down a country lane and swerving to miss a guy on a pedal bike who had no lights ! Regardless it was completely my fault and all speed related. Ill upload the photos and x-rays to the photo gallery

Has anyone tried the 2500 - 3000 rev band for me yet ?
Cheers

I gave this a go earlier and yes there was some vibration but at 2/3k I would expect some and it didn't seem out of the ordinary, It's difficult to know just from your description whether it might be excessive or just normal.

Trophy came back from Renault Specialist today, he did not think the small vibration around 2500-3000 rpm was a problem and said the acoustic valve would not make a difference either...

However he did find that the middle box baffles had broken down and where rattling. Also found that exhaust gasses are only exiting one tail pipe which would be due to the exhaust system breaking down with its age.

So ... new exhaust system guys ?
