It is time for me to sell up my beloved Trophy. I’ve had it since new. Family needs mean it’s too impractical.

I’m based near Glasgow.

Main details:
- 90K miles.
- One owner (me).
- No mods.
- FSH - some main dealer and then good independent garage as couldn’t find a decent Renault specialist near me and the local dealers were Arnold Clark.
- In good condition - I’m not pretending it’s perfect. It was my everyday car.
- Timing belt changed 72K as per service guide.
- MOTd until April. Plan to MOT it again then hope it'll get through with no major problems.
- I have a new official Renaultsport badge to replace the one kids nabbed from the rear door - I just need to put it on.

£4500. Open to sensible offers. My kids will not be happy to see ‘Trophy’ go!

Happy to answer any questions.

Good luck with the sale. One owner is pretty cool. What's the dampers situation, btw?

Thanks all - re the dampers, I knew I'd forget something! I'll edit the post. The were stripped and rebuilt by Cornering Force at just shy of 80K miles (Nov 2013). They gave them a clean bill of health and advised against powder coating as they seemed to be in good nick. They seem to be working fine now.

Rears have been replaced. Don't have the mileage to hand at work, but suspect at about 70k. I had to replace front springs due to breakage. I think both have been done (possibly the same one twice) but would need to check the papers which, again, I don't have to hand. I recall this being at a similar mileage to the rear shocks.

I've not posted the car on autotrader or the like yet as was hoping to sell via the forum to an enthusiast, but will list it there if nobody comes knocking from here in the not too distant future. Btw, would anyone here be able to suggest the best place to list the car if I do need to go more mainstream? If anyone know Les anyone looking for a Trophy, please spread the word!

You have a few options including Autotrader, Gumtree, eBay and Pistonheads.

I bought my Trophy from Pistonheads and have sold cars there too, never had any trouble so that would be my first port of call. The key is a well-written advert - you can never include too much information, and for a keenly priced car like this one people will be willing to travel.

Of course, explore all free options first, including the following Facebook groups :

"RenaultSport Clio Trophy Club"
"Clio Sport Owners Club"
"Renault uk"

If you're already a member, www.cliosport.net, otherwise it's a £12 annual membership fee to be able to access the Marketplace area of the forum - still could be a worthwhile outlay.

Good luck with the sale!

A one owner car has to be worth more for the provenance alone. A lot of these cars have had owners into double figures by now
